They did something similar to me too. I think they were quite certain you weren't going to attend and low-balled you to make your choice (and their prediction) easier. I mean, would you have gone even with 100k? Probably not...

At $100k I'd at least have considered it. I just wonder why they offered anything at all, considering it should've been pretty clear I wouldn't attend at $30k.

Just received scholly package of 60k today. Patrice Robinson at GW said there would be more merit scholarship packages given out this week.

Have until the 15th to accept, which is slightly unnerving because I have a full ride at ASU, and am still waiting to hear back from Vanderbilt. I have three days to make my decision. I really like GW so I'm pretty sure I'll end up committing here.

Remember, it is non-binding. It's $500, but if Vandy backs up the truck for you, you're not stuck.

Re: scholly $$

You have to remain in "good academic standing" but no GPA minimums, etc.

Is the deposit deadline on April 15th? or May 1 for GWU?

We could be seeing a lot of movement next week!

April 15th, but they've given extensions. So not nearly as large of a movement as would otherwise be expected.

I'd like to get input as well. I'm from the DC area but have only lived in the Maryland suburbs. When I move back after graduation I intend live in the city near school. Not excited about living in a dorm again after moving out of one at the end of sophomore year.

Found this on the admitted students website. I'm personally going to be living in The Aston (Law Student Dorms), but looking through it, it looks like a good resource for those planning to live elsewhere.

I was thinking about the aston as well as a couple other places right around the campus. Apartments are expensive as hell, but I do wanna be right near campus as a 1L.

The maximum occupancy for some of the 1 bedroom and the efficiency (studio) apartments is listed as 2 adults. I'm thinking of finding someone to split an apartment with to save $$.

Yes.

I pay $300/month right now...that's a hard adjustment to DC prices.

Lmao that's an understatement.

Also, is there a better thread out there to talk about this? A thread where 0Ls are talking about where to live next year and are trying to find roommates?

Have you gone to the GW class of 2015 admitted students Facebook page? There are only 27 member so far, but I found it helpful.

Hoping there will be movement on the WL this week. It's getting down to the wire for seat deposits, and I'd rather not be out an additional $500-750.

Since GW likes to use snail mail, is attempting to register for the admitted student portal an effective way of seeing if you're admitted prior to receiving the physical letter?
