Re: WUSTL c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Just booked my visit to WashU for February 28th/29th
Yes I know that's not an official date for ASD but whatever.
Is anyone else gonna be there around that time??
And also, if it didn't explicitly say in my acceptance letter that I'm being considered for scholarship then does that mean I'm an automatic out?

Mine mentioned the Scholar in Law Awards, which I think is automatically considered for all accepted students.cusenation wrote:Just booked my visit to WashU for February 28th/29th

But i feel like that means we're all considered for it while they evaluate us for admission. Because my letter has no mention of that award. FML i'm fucked hahahahatmon wrote:Mine mentioned the Scholar in Law Awards, which I think is automatically considered for all accepted students.cusenation wrote:Just booked my visit to WashU for February 28th/29th

Based on your numbers from earlier in the thread, I'd be pretty surprised if you got nothing, unless there's a C&F issue or something significant that'd give them a reason not to offer you anything. If they really don't, seems like you'd have a good reason to negotiate, especially if you can pull money somewhere else comparable.

Ermmm the only C&F issues I had was that I got put on Academic Warning (not probation) for one semester because I bombed my grades because I was pledging my fraternity..but I ended up getting a 3.8 the following semester which took me off warning status...And another time when my roommates had empty beer cans in our dorm..but they were 21 at the time but our entire room was written up since there was no way to prove it was theres

I wouldn't stress about it too much at this point. Not much you can do, and it really seems from past cycles that you should get something, unless they're really cutting back on scholarships, which seems like it'd mess with WUSTLs way of gaming US News.cusenation wrote:tmon wrote:Based on your numbers from earlier in the thread, I'd be pretty surprised if you got nothing, unless there's a C&F issue or something significant that'd give them a reason not to offer you anything. Dumb question, but does Wash U not send out snail mail letters? I got the acceptance e-mail awhile ago but never received anything in the mail.

Hey everyone, I have been debating on applying to Wash U for a while now. I have a fee waiver. Is it too late in the cycle to apply?

A little late .. but from what you are saying .. it doesn't look like you are very interested .. so why bother?ACGator2012 wrote:Hey everyone, I have been debating on applying to Wash U for a while now. I have a fee waiver. Is it too late in the cycle to apply?

Last year I got a package quite a bit after admitted that contained a flash drive and two sheets of paper, one was an acceptance letter. I think they really try to keep it as paperless as possible and it did arrive towards the end of February after I was admitted in the fall.

If you have to think that much about spending $16 - even if it is late in the cycle - then that in itself is usually your answer. I got a fee waiver from Vandy and was debating whether I should apply. In the end, I didn't apply because there was no chance of me ending there.

Congrats everyone!

Not to be a downer, but the scholars in law is just the name they give to the general scholarships given out each year. Hopefully the pots as big as previous years.JDizzle2015 wrote:+111Cornelius wrote:Just admitted via email. Finally WUSTL.

I'm obviously just trying to get everyone to withdraw so they're under enrolled and give me more money.

it doesn't matter what you call the scholars in law scholarships....i would just be incredibly excited if they released them sooner than later....

+1. At the very least it could help in negotiations with other schools.LuckySpurs wrote:it doesn't matter what you call the scholars in law scholarships....i would just be incredibly excited if they released them sooner than later....

They should start coming within the next couple weeks, unless things have changed this year.
