To the people who have Decision Letter Sent, when did you all submit your applications?

Nothing has changed on my end. So confused with Stanford at the moment.

I'm impressed at the self-restraint of folks on this thread. If this would have been the NYU or Michigan thread there would have been ten new pages of panic, speculation and spreadsheets within hours of the first DLS report.
I'm so sorry to hear about the recent dings!
And I just checked my status and saw that it's still at "submitted for review" - heart rate slowly returning to normal.

I think everyone knows that Stanford is a black box and so everyone is (at least somewhat) expecting rejection.curiouscat wrote:I'm impressed at the self-restraint of folks on this thread. That said, I did frantically check my status upon the first report of the DLS and found it to be unchanged.

The only reason I can think of that I wasn't rejected today is because I'm from Palo Alto

Is your status "complete" or "under review"?chucklesmcgee wrote:Went complete late October, still no change. I guess they're saving the best rejections for last right?

My status has been under review since 12/9. Completed late November. No news yet. Was hoping to hear something during this round.

Re: Stanford c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Based on the experiences of a few friends who applied in previous cycles, it seems to me that Stanford often hangs on to the apps of strong candidates who applied early in the fall all the way through March or April - I think it's sort of like a hold at other schools. I used to think that Stanford was kind of employing it as a 'hidden waitlist' - these are our second choice candidates, we'll decide which to take depending on which first choice candidates turn us down - but I think a hold is probably a better way of describing it. (Honestly, now that I'm going through the application process myself, I'm starting to think that EVERY school, or at least the T14, does this to some extent!) Seems to me like Stanford usually only does this 'hold' for people they really are considering admitting (or who will eventually be WL'ed, and supposedly their WL is fairly small), so I'm thinking that no news is not a terrible thing... (though of course we'd all love to see that 650 area code on our phones - please love us, FD!)FryBreadPower wrote:Nothing has changed on my end. So confused with Stanford at the moment.

I'm actually having a lot of trouble accessing my application status. The link in the email from Stanford admissions isn't working, and the username stanford admissions sent me doesn't work with the site listed on stanford law's website. Any ideas?

even the thought of stanford holding on to my app to eventually waitlist me is exciting, haha. i submitted in september, went complete in october, and there hasn't been a change to my status checker yet.sailboat wrote:Based on the experiences of a few friends who applied in previous cycles, it seems to me that Stanford often hangs on to the apps of strong candidates who applied early in the fall all the way through March or April - I think it's sort of like a hold at other schools. I dodged the DLS yesterday too. My status has said that my file is complete and has been submitted for review since late-Oct. Hopefully they will bless us with good news sooner than later. Stanford would be a dream come true for me.

I've been submitted for review since 9/30 but was spared a rejection. My LSAT isn't that good but I have a really interesting personal experience and a high UGPA. Historically when are we supposed to hear back by? Next month?

I wonder how bad it is that I submitted my app on 1/30...

I've been under review since 10/31. The thought of waiting until March or April for a decision is seriously stressing me out.

I'm pretty sure the way most people handle this is by just assuming we're all rejected until otherwise notified. That way it's either completely expected or a welcomes surprise. It's mildly easier to feel that way about YS than the others since they accept so few people/are unpredictable.pdftlvson wrote:I've been under review since 10/31. +2, this is exactly my mentality for SLS. I'm carrying on as if I've been rejected and looking at my current options. If I get a call in April I would absolutely drop everything and enroll. It's actually a lot less stressful that way. (Maybe it would be harder for me if I felt I had more of a chance).poe wrote:+1jetissent wrote:I'm pretty sure the way most people handle this is by just assuming we're all rejected until otherwise notified. I think I'd drop everything and enroll even if I got a call in September after classes had already started.

But I think this is probably the most healthy attitude to have in our situation.
