it takes Michigan a long time to get status checkers out. Most of those getting decisions applied very early, in the first few days of the process. We waited almost 4 weeks before getting access to a status checker. Then another 3 for a decision. Hang tight. It will come.

uuugh, 7 weeks is so longgggg! i want to know now! glad to see some people with similar numbers are getting in though! congrats to everyone who was on top of their sh*t a month or so ago and has already heard!

I'm not so much worried about the status checker... I just want to know they've received my app. I'll find out if I get in when they are ready to tell me... I just don't want to be in a situation where they don't get/lose my app and I'm SOL in December.

Yeah, like I said I just got mine and it has been two weeks since I submitted. As far as I could tell from looking over this thread while I was waiting, this delay is standard protocol.

Do you offer any merit-based scholarships?
While the University of Michigan Law School devotes many of its financial aid funds to applicants who have demonstrated financial need, we do also offer merit awards. The Admissions Office administers our two merit aid programs: Darrow Scholarships, which cover as much as full tuition plus a stipend, are awarded to approximately 14 members of each entering class selected by the faculty in reflection of the recipient's outstanding scholastic achievements as well as the sense that they will one day go on to a remarkable career; we also offer Dean's Scholarships, which vary in size, and are offered to those whose academic achievements and demonstrated leadership promise significant contributions to both the Law School and the legal profession. All admitted applicants will be considered for merit-based aid, and no separate application is required. If you have additional questions about merit aid, please contact the Admissions Office at 734.764.0537 or by e-mail to law.jd.admissions@umich.edu. In cases where no merit aid has been offered, the Financial Aid Office is occasionally able to take financial aid offers from competing schools into account.

No you get invited to apply to to darrow. Look at the full tuition scholarship thread in the financial aid forum for details

You definitely get invited to apply for a Darrow. According to a friend who's at Mich now on the Darrow

Got my Michigan acceptance package in the mail today. I'm still surprised at how quickly I got a decision, I just went complete on the 3rd. This is really exciting!

I read in an interview that Dean Z personally reads and makes decisions on all files herself. The article stated that she will usually make a decision on an application once she is finished reading it, though she may sometimes put it to the side and re-read it again if she is unsure. My guess is that she is able to get through a few applications/hour, so I'd imagine that, once you go "complete" (which appears to mean in review), you should have a decision within a few days.
