Went to a new UR today as well. 11/28 --> 12/14. 3.63/173 for what it's worth.

Clearly, if you post status updates on TLS, you will be admitted to Chicago ED

So BigLaw + Fed Clerkship = 86.83% of the class?Perdevise wrote:http://www.law.uchicago.edu/prospective/employmentdata
This new, comprehensive employment data from Chicago makes the school sound really, really attractive.
Not too bad

Looking back to last year's thread, the EDers had an update on the equivalent wednesday before decisions went out the following Monday.

So all EDers got an update and then acceptances started on Monday or only some EDers got updates and those were the ones accepted on Monday?Danny Mothers wrote:Looking back to last year's thread, the EDers had an update on the equivalent wednesday before decisions went out the following Monday.

Add on another few percentage points (at least) for prestigious PI/Gov't and you have over 90% of the class "making it," such as that is. Not too shabby. You can really see the post-crash drop-off though, which is interesting.JamMasterJ wrote:So BigLaw + Fed Clerkship = 86.83% of the class?Perdevise wrote:http://www.law.uchicago.edu/prospective/employmentdata

I wanna say every ED must have gotten this update only because I did and my numbers are basically auto-reject barring some down-cycle luck/magic.

Yeah, I'll warn you all now that deducing A/D/WL from when your status is updated is a fools errand. I remember applicants to just about every school trying to reason out some pattern last year, and to a man they were unable to do it.
Communicate now with those who not only know what a legal education is, but can offer you worthy advice and commentary as you complete the three most educational, yet challenging years of your law related post graduate life.

Re: Chicago c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
TBF, the data says that 71.2% of c/o went to law firms and 12.5% went to federal clerkships (14.1%*88.9%). And if we want to use NLJ250 as a demarcation for law firms, then we should only include people in the categories of 101+ people (granted, this may be cutting out some prestigious lit boutiques), which means ~60% got it.JamMasterJ wrote:So BigLaw + Fed Clerkship = 86.83% of the class?Perdevise wrote:http://www.law.uchicago.edu/prospective/employmentdata

So the number looks more like ~72.5% big law + clerkships, which really isn't going to be much different from CN, especially considering that leaked OCI data has CN at ~70% EIW/OCI 2L SA rates (assume some change to PI/gov, some get no offered, some take clerkships) + their historical 8-9% federal clerkship numbers. You can also include PI (jobs that are just as hard to attain), e.g., which NYU historically places much better into than Chicago.
That's not to say that the numbers are unimpressive. No, it's great to see great numbers coming out of the CCN tier. Just, make sure you're correctly calculating things here and are keeping in mind its peer schools.

Yeah I should clarify: it seems as if every ED applicant got an update, not just those who were accepted. I was mostly posting to say that we shouldn't expect decisions to come out this week based on similar stuff happening last year.
