Sent in my supplemental aid form really late, about a week ago. Just got an email today telling me I'm going to get $10,000/year and it's renewable. This is great considering my numbers are quite low and I sent in my app pretty late, but Loyola with $29k/year is a lot more appealing right now.

same thing here. this, combined with the need-based grant I got makes Loyola and Hastings COA comparable. However, Hastings' scholarship do not have the top-33% stip, hard to pass up

Right??? Just paid my tuition deposit elsewhere yesterday, but I will kiss that $300 goodbye if Hastings comes through.

That's how I feel about the deposit, but I'm worried about my living situation. I hope finding an apartment in May isn't an issue wherever I end up. I'm getting worried about being homeless ha

Got the same email today $10k/year renewable. Wow but that helps a ton - putting in deposit and enjoying being done with this part of the work.

When do they start sending out the first assignments? C'yalls in the fall!!

It did! I emailed admissions a week or two ago about merit aid and they said that after April 11th they'll know what money had freed up (aka now). They mentioned that they will be reallocating money from now through summer, so keep your fingers crossed! I thankfully got the 10K email today and will be sending in my deposit asap. See you guys in the fall!

I guess they won't be giving mOney to people who already put down their seat deposits? Too bad I put mine down just a couple of days too early.

For those of you that just received the email for $10K, had you already received the Hastings Grant in your Financial Aid offer and this is on top of that? That would be awesome. I'm just trying to guess if there's potential for $$$ in addition to the original grant offer I received. Thanks!

Yes, I did. The email said that this was in addition to the general need-based aid. I sent an email to the Financial Aid office requesting an updated financial aid award breakdown just to confirm, but I'm pretty sure that the scholarship is in addition to the grant. Good news I think!

Yes I did. I actually emailed it to the address that was on the app, marp@uchastings.edu. I scanned and attached the printed confirmation of the payment.

Yeah. A few days after submitting my seat deposit I received an email from the Assistant Dean of Admissions basically saying welcome to Hastings.

for those getting the 10k scholly... have you applied/negotiated for an increased amount of aid/schollys previously? i just sent an email today and while i'm not expecting a response asap, i wanted to know if requesting the funds in advance would have any bearing on the funds "currently available."

I'm hoping to make it past 5/1 seat deposits. Then I'll start believing I just might have a shot at getting in. I'm lucky to have made it this far.
