In with $60K. I submitted my application in late November. Very nice note from the Dean, which was much appreciated. Congratulations to fellow admits and best of luck to those waiting to hear.

In!! With 54k. The personal, handwritten note (plus crossing out my last name and writing in my first) was very impressive. I already feel welcome.
Anyone planning on going to admitted students day?

Has everyone gotten their letters at their permanent address? I'm out of the country and will be stopping off at my parents' place (permanent address) before heading home to my place.

Re: Emory 2011
So... with usual disclaimers about LSN not being representative, did anyone else notice that in the first batch, they're only admitting 166/167s, plus a few high GPA with higher LSATs (probably Woodruff scholars or applicants)? Could be that they're trying to grab students above their median but still likely to enroll as early as they can, to increase those students' chances of accepting, and postponing students they think might be using them as a safety...
That, or I've spent too much time analyzing my empty mailbox. Point is, I think the more peripheral numbers might be waiting a few weeks.

Re: Emory 2011
I got my admissions letter last week (174/3.91). I read further back on this forum that it seems like they're capping scholarships at 75K (other than the Woodruff Fellowships) and I think you might be right. I got $75,000, and I don't really understand because I've gotten much better scholarship offers at other schools that are better than Emory. I'm kind of sad because I really like Emory, but they may have just knocked themselves off my list. Any ideas as to what they're strategy is?? Maybe they're trying to spread the money out to more people?

Yea that's pretty weak if true. I wonder if the rankings take a big blow as a result.sghall wrote:I got my admissions letter last week (174/3.91).
