This. If this is a URM applicant then it doesn't apply to me. Failing that, I'd be really interested because I have similar numbers. Anyways, sent him a message on LSN. Let's see what happens.drawstring wrote:I think kkdk's getting at them being accepted with a 3.26

hmm mid career so maybe they figure his gpa is getting pretty close to irrelevant. I suppose if i was on admissions and someone who had demonstrated success in the jobzworld had a poor gpa from 20 years ago, I might consider the gpa to no longer be a useful indicator.kkdk wrote:This. i wouldn't be surprised if that was the lowest gpa they'd admitted in several years tho. by like 0.2 probably

This post may give hope to those who just want to get in, regardless of whether via WL or not.

This was awesome until I made the mistake of looking at Oxie's LSN profile...rseaney wrote:drawstring wrote:This post may give hope to those who just want to get in, regardless of whether via WL or not.

I was pretty surprised by how high the numbers were for Harvard to be honest, but I think it starts to make sense if you consider that HLS probably loses a some of its admits to Y/S/$$$ fairly late in the game and that a relatively high percentage of people who get waitlisted at HLS are probably willing to ride the WL through the summer.
If I've got time later today/this weekend I may do some more analysis about the characteristics of students who get admitted from the WL -- if I do, I'll be sure to cross-post any HLS-relevant data in this thread!

Dreamt that I got a JS2.
This is the second time that's happened. I don't even want to call it a good dream anymore, because I wake up and have to convince myself that, no, scoobers, you have not gotten a JS2.

URMs wait longer for initial admit, not to get off the WL.luckystar84 wrote:also, URMs typically wait a bit longer to hear back, so they probably constitute a significant portion of the 15% of the admitted students who were first WLed. I was looking at the FB group and there are way fewer URMs than the final report shows, so most of that probably happens in the WL action

Had my JS1 today. (Even though it wasn't with JS haha)
She only asked me about three questions and said, "Talk to you soon!" at the end of the conversation. Good or bad sign?

^^didn't JS say "we'll be in touch soon" or something like that at the end of all of her interviews? I wouldn't read too much into it personally

She asked a couple small talk type questions. But her asking me questions lasted 10 minutes.drawstring wrote: And just three questions
