for those trying to find a theory about when vandy sends out certain types of decisions...

i was accepted in the 08-09 cycle in the third week of january. dont put a ton of stock in those theories. not that i can tell you what each of your decisions will be, but just stay stressed (i wont pretend its easy to relax) and watch your mailbox. good luck, all. and if you get in, go to vandy. if you get waitlisted, send LOCIs and go to vandy.

Anyone else decision mailed 1/14??

Kind of anxious since it was such a quick turnaround on my app  Hope it's the good kind of quick turnaround, and not the bad kind!

11/10

This is the first decision from a school that I really want to attend, but the mood around here is pretty somber. Anyone holding out any optimism?

Haha, my optimism is that I might get WLd ... but if they're going chronologically now, it appears I may have to wait until Feb until I get any sort of decision (complete 12/7).

I am holding out hope as Vanderbilt is probably my first choice with a little bit of scholarship money. However, the time spent waiting is making it hard to be optimistic as I am rethinking things I no longer have any control over.

Went complete yesterday.

Initially submitted 10/17 and went complete 10/29. I later decided to re-take in December (folly) and they un-completed me. Then I interviewed on 1/2.

But ... um ... my LSAT would have to be like their 10%. I'm NOT getting in.

If you aced the interview, a waitlist isn't out of the question. I'm a reverse splitter with an LSAT below their 25th, and I still got on the WL. Will I be able to battle my way off the list? Probably not, but it's still better than a straight rejection.

Do you guys mind PMing me your stats? I am in the same boat (reverse splitter), and have not received anything. Thanks :)

Good to hear: I absolutely murdered the interview (which, sadly, had to be a phoner). Unless the interviewer, who was practically gushing by the end of the 1hr15mins, is/was a liar. Also, I'm hoping it really helps that interviewer is extremely well-connected to the powers that be (i.e., the folks who go asking for alum $$).

Unfortunately, I'm no reverse splitter. My GPA is median. On the flip side, I do have ~7 years of great post-UG WE and terrific LORs.

That's a heck of a long phone interview. If length is any indicator, I think you'll have a good shot at the WL, especially when your WE is factored in.

Complete 1/4, DR 1/14. Freaking out.

(PS sorry if this posted twice, I'm trying to do this on my phone and failing miserably)

Yeah, I thought so, too. ... Here's hoping it counts for a lot!

Good luck to you on getting off that sucker. Have you planned to write LOCI or send anything else in, or do you figure it's too early yet?

I have a LOCI typed up, but haven't decided when to send it yet. I'll probably hold it for a couple weeks and send a new letter every six weeks. If I can find the funds, I may even visit the school. Keep me updated on your progress:)

DR 1/12. 3.0/176. Thought I interviewed well with Dean Morton, but who knows...

He's in my DR group, the 176 is comforting, but, like he said...."who knows..."

This may not be reassuring, but I thought I should pass along a tidbit from my interview. According to the assistant dean I met, the admissions office is aware that TLS students try to predict the results of decision batches. He said that Vanderbilt thus tries to mix it up. I haven't seen much proof of that this year though.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
