np! I would say if you got into W&M you should be good for BU too but they might be slightly stingier with moneyJGPGH wrote:Gotcha, I got into W&M with $$$ but I would much rather be in Boston so I was just wondering if my chances were about the same. Thanks for the help!Thomas Hagan, ESQ. wrote:Rankings include non-admissions-related factors as well.JGPGH wrote:Does anyone have any idea on how much more selective BU is compared to W&M? The only reason why I'm asking is because their acceptance rates and medians are basically exactly the same, but BU is ranked higher. Are they comparable at all in terms of admissions?

I'm around median&75ths for both gpa and lsat so I'm really hoping that they didn't give me $0....

That's a bummer...maybe they didn't offer as a YP sort of thing? If you're strongly considering it I'd definitely ask. I'm <25 GPA and >75 LSAT and got $22k/year, so at least numerically you should qualify for more.Thomas Hagan, ESQ. wrote:Ah thanks! A YP on a scholly? Yikes, that would stink. Is it possible Tomas Hagan, ESQ. is under consideration for a scholarship (e.g. Public Interest Scholarship) and for that reason hasn't received a scholarship award yet?floatie wrote:That's a bummer...maybe they didn't offer as a YP sort of thing? Submitted almost a month ago and haven't heard back yet. Does this mean I'm out of the running for PI scholarship?

Re: Boston University C/O 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
It's possible they don't make Alumni Scholarship decisions until after the March 1 deadline. Though it is need-based, BU may just like to give need- and merit-based scholarships as one package at the same time. That would explain why you're still sitting without a scholarship with your numbers.Thomas Hagan, ESQ. wrote:Just the alumni scholarships! The PI Scholarship hasn't been awarded until later in Feb, if the last two years make the trend. I wouldn't worry that you haven't heard back yet.Stylnator wrote:Submitted almost a month ago and haven't heard back yet. Does this mean I'm out of the running for PI scholarship?

If I haven't heard back yet does that mean I'm most likely getting a denial? It's been 10 weeks since I applied as of yesterday. I asked to take a self guided tour since I will be in the area in 2 weeks. Hopefully that shows them I am interested

Just got a call from a 617 area code. Googled the number and it looks like its from BU admissions, but they didn't leave a message. Should I call back?
Applied in early January.
