I don't know whether to be happy that all of these OOS splitters are getting in or worried that all of these OOS splitters are getting in.

Texas resident. Things are starting to look dim, I've also been complete since January. It seems like they have already accepted a good portion of students for this cycle.

Seems like OOS is a better bet this cycle for some reason. Best of luck!WanyeKest wrote:Texas resident. Things are starting to look dim, I've also been complete since January. It seems like they have already accepted a good portion of students for this cycle.

Submitted early January, complete about a week later. UT is by far my first choice right now because of dual degree options. Really hoping for good news.DeathByLSATWasTaken wrote:Submitted early January, complete 1/27. C'monnnn, UT!beckett wrote:Completed 1/8. No word. Texas resident complete 1/7. Median LSAT and below median GPA.
Based off my patchy research here and on law school numbers, I think they are accepting OOS students first because even with some scholarship money, some of those who decide to attend are going to pay more than residents. They also know that they are likely the #1 choice of residents and that we'll hold out longer than some OOSers who have regional ties elsewhere. Also, I don't think they are even close to their 65% resident numbers yet. There's hope!

For my sake, I hope they don't get their 65% in state numbers after deposits so I have a shot to get off of the waitlist. It's still my top choice even with two Top 8 offers.HabeasandCo wrote:Texas resident complete 1/7. Does anybody know the chances of getting in if you get waitlisted at UT Austin?

The admissions office is very closed about talking about waitlist possibilities. I've tried. I couldn't even get them to tell me how many people they were able to accept off the waitlist last year. They act like they have absolutely no statistics to go off of or when they would start pulling, so good luck.
If you really want to go there though, I would recommend submitting a LOCI and keep in touch with admissions every few weeks or so.

In state and got the phone call yesterday! Submitted mid-January and didn't check the tracker once. LSAT at median and GPA at 25th. I was skipping work and the meter I pulled into on the street still had 90 mins left on it, seemed everything was going my way yesterday.

Waitlisted. I know the chances to get off are very low, but would anybody be able to put a number on it? Just from what i've heard I would imagine it to be like 10%

Anecdotal, but I know plenty of people who got in off the waitlist (I'm a current 2L).

Got a PM that an email went out to select waitlist candidates asking if they were still interested. Guess I wasn't worthy of that even with 2 LOCIs and a phone call to the person sending that email. Getting pretty frustrated at this point.

Or maybe they didn't need to know if you were still interested because you sent two LOCI. Relax... Maybe the people who are no longer interested will decline and free up space.Navyhornguy wrote:Got a PM that an email went out to select waitlist candidates asking if they were still interested.
