On the checker there is no status date. If you log on to the decision letter system it will show your complete date.

Money was not addressed. It is my understanding you have to fill out need access/fasfa before money is discussed.frozencavemanlawyer8 wrote:Accepted today! Been lurking throughout this entire process, and living and dying with all of you. Thanks to everyone for all the help along the way.

So I just finished my off-campus interview. Do I need to do anything other than report the interview date on the scheduling website and wait? My status checker still says "incomplete".

Re: Northwestern c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I have off-campus interview tomorrow. 160 LSAT, 3.5 GPA. Yeah, my numbers are pathetic but I excel at interviews (people say I should run for office because I am gifted with an incredible public speaking ability) and I am fairly confident that I can crush the interview. I dealt with some of the toughest curveball questions in the past (interviewed for consulting positions which is notorious for this) and every time I came out exceeding the interviewer's expectation, so this should be a cakewalk. "What is your biggest weakness?" LOL I prefer the more abstract Qs, that way I can be more creative with my answers (I came up with some very clever answers in the past), which means more opportunity to stand out since most people are horrible at answering this type of questions.
Can't wait. Let's see how truly "business-oriented" Northwestern is. I applied to NU because I have a faith in its AdCom that they will look past the numbers since that is one thing that they seem to emphasize.

Similar numbers. And due to some reason, I have to waive the interview. Does it mean I should say good-bye to NU?CPAlawHopefu wrote:I have off-campus interview tomorrow. 160 LSAT, 3.5 GPA. Re: Northwestern c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Pump the brakes there tiger. It's still a numbers game. Best of luck to you but if you don't get in it's not because the AdComms lied about being business focused, it's because you are well below both 25th percentiles. Keep in mind that no one who self reported with your stats has gotten in Northwestern in this cycle or the last 2 (http://mylsn.info/44sx3e/) and that's even expanding the band data. Remain confident, I'm sure you'll blow away your interviewer, but keep in mind law school admissions is still a massive numbers game. They can't report your interview performance.CPAlawHopefu wrote:I have off-campus interview tomorrow. 160 LSAT, 3.5 GPA. Again, seriously, best of luck, but you might want to check that attitude at the door.

I hesitate to burst your bubble, but the off-campus interview may only be 1% of the admissions equation. Unless you are a URM, 160/3.5 isn't going to make the grade.CPAlawHopefu wrote:I have off-campus interview tomorrow. 160 LSAT, 3.5 GPA. Re: Northwestern c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Well I just came back from the interview. It lasted 90 minutes, by far the longest interview I've had in one seating. We started off running down the resume and lots of behavioral questions ("Let's say you are my boss, what would you do if I......" type of questions). And then we moved on to the routine questions like "why law", "why NU", etc. He thought my background was interesting because his case was that he started off his career as a lawyer, lost interest, and now works as a professional recruiter for Finance/Accounting jobs, whereas I, a CPA, was planning to transition into Law.
I found it funny because he sounded almost too cautious of people moving into Law industry. He explicitly said, "Either Top 20 school or don't go" and added that law is a dying profession. So much for the promotion, hm? But he spent plenty of time advertising NU so I guess he did his job. I definitely got the "You are a CPA, you are insane for considering law school in the year post-2009" tone from him.
Overall I think we clicked and the vibe was good, so I think I have a fair chance. Now the waiting game starts.

Re: Northwestern c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Would it be appropriate to send something like a Why Northwestern right now? I'm above both 75ths, interviewed in October, and haven't heard anything.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
