Idk, something about NYU law people are hype for? E.g. Clinics, things specific to NYU.

I just applied yesterday, and I'm amazed at how much more quickly NYU goes under review! What's the turn-around time for decisions, for those who have been accepted?

There haven't been any decisions yet, so we don't have that information yet, at least as far as I know!slizerd wrote:I just applied yesterday, and I'm amazed at how much more quickly NYU goes under review! What's the turn-around time for decisions, for those who have been accepted?

Thanks! It's been a struggle focusing on anything but admissions hahamynameiskevin wrote:There will be a huge flood of decisions on the first week of December, but probably none before then.slizerd wrote:I just applied yesterday, and I'm amazed at how much more quickly NYU goes under review! Re: NYU c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I'm waiting until Dec for Chicago, but Columbia and NYU aren't my top choices so I figure I'll apply there now. My GPA is over the 75ths and my LSAT now is at/over 50th percentile, so I'm not at too much of a disadvantage.gamerish wrote:You're not waiting until you get your Dec score for CCN?slizerd wrote:I just applied yesterday, and I'm amazed at how much more quickly NYU goes under review! Dec is more for schollys than admittance for me (minus Chi and Harvard)

Re: NYU c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I feel ya. Michigan is my top choice and I would wait for Dec, but I really wanted a shot at the Darrow so I went ahead and used my Oct there. You've currently got a solid LSAT (I think you're a point higher than mine) so I definitely wouldn't worry about being rejected in your shoes!gamerish wrote:I'm in the same position GPA/LSAT percentile-wise as you are for Columbia, opposite for NYU. I think Columbia attaches scholly offers with their initial decisions though so I'm waiting for Dec. I'm also really terrified of being rejected/wl'd in general though since they, along with H, are my top choices.slizerd wrote:I'm waiting until Dec for Chicago, but Columbia and NYU aren't my top choices so I figure I'll apply there now. I was UR2 earlier, a little over a week ago now. The consensus is that these dates don't matter, right?

Correct. Last year there wasn't any discernible pattern or meaning for UR dates at NYU.lodovicok wrote:I was UR2 earlier, a little over a week ago now. The consensus is that these dates don't matter, right?

I'm wondering if it is possible for UR2 to mean: decision made - waitlist. For that's what happened to me for Duke.benwyatt wrote:Correct. UR can mean anything at NYU. Each school utilizes the status checker differently and it isn't worth your time or stress to analyze across schools. NYU UR hasn't had a noticeable meaning or pattern in the past so until one arises, don't sweat it.zty wrote:I'm wondering if it is possible for UR2 to mean: decision made - waitlist. I didn't mean UR2 equals wl, I mean, does UR2 at NYU guarantee safety? or it could be either acceptance/rej/wl?lodovicok wrote:I was also UR2 at Duke and was accepted.zty wrote:I'm wondering if it is possible for UR2 to mean: decision made - waitlist. I'm not willing to write a $300K ED check anywhere.
