Re: University of Pennsylvania Law School C/O 2018 Applicants
I mean, almost everyone who reported UR2 on 12/8 was admitted 12/18 except for me and sneakyleo, as far as I can tell, though unclear what our fates might be tomorrow. But it was the first UR2 day of the cycle, so it may not follow the pattern of later dates.rebexness wrote:Do we think the groupings via days are indicative of anything?
Like certain day UR2s are WL, some are Accept, etc?
Because it kind of looks that way.

Oh thank God, me too!curlietop86 wrote:i also just switched to UR2 1/15 after holding at 12/11 since... well, 12/11fra wrote:Holy heck. FINALLY UR2 1/15 after being in UR1 purgatory since 12/11. Has anyone gotten a decision the day after UR2?hopeful for continued (positive) movement!
Also, I'm not expecting a decision tomorrow, considering I just went UR2, but im out of the country for school, so will I only really be able to find out my decision through SC/email (if I get dinged)? If so, anyone know how long hey generally take to update the SC?

Also UR1 1/5 UR2 1/15
Only wrote a non-why-UPenn optional essay, so I guess a WL is around the corner

This might be the stupidest question to ever make the Penn Law forum but making it from UR1 to UR2 doesn't really mean anything positive does it? Penn Law says that they review applications by at least 2 different people so isn't it a possiblity that UR2 just means the second person is reviewing it?
Sorry again for the less-than-intelligent question, I'm an ED2 applicant and my application just made UR1 yesterday... don't want to get my hopes up high for nothing if it makes UR2 lol.
Thanks everyone:)

Going to UR2 means you might get a decision soon.bodie9 wrote:This might be the stupidest question to ever make the Penn Law forum but making it from UR1 to UR2 doesn't really mean anything positive does it? I'm getting on a flight and would love nothing more than a voicemail welcoming me to Penn when I land in 4 hours.
Fingers crossed!

This isn't a stupid question at all! I believe, based on what people have posted here and based on the info in the status checker that everyone gets UR2. The status checker is very clear that all apps get reviewed by two faculty members. So you are correct that UR2 just means that the second person has received the application and it has no bearing on possible outcomes.
Good Luck!

Re: University of Pennsylvania Law School C/O 2018 Applicants
Yes, I am pretty sure that everyone gets UR2 (and, in rare occasions, UR3 even), and the general consensus indeed seems to be that UR2 indicates the file being handed over to a second reviewer (and that UR3 usually takes place when the two reviewers' opinions are at odds with each other). It appears that usually it takes a while for the status to change from UR1 to UR2, but then the turnaround from UR2 to decision is pretty quick -- however, in my case, the turnaround between UR1 and UR2 was only two days (01/06->01/08), so it might be the case that UR2 is coming up soon for you as well!bodie9 wrote:This might be the stupidest question to ever make the Penn Law forum but making it from UR1 to UR2 doesn't really mean anything positive does it?
