Did this happen to anyone else??
someone PMed me about this.
not to get your hopes up too much or anything, but when they emailed columbia they responded with an acceptance letter AND a hamilton
Pretty sure that is biologically impossible given the second clause.

Maybe semi-tempering hopes, but I got one of those packages (after an email/acceptance letter) too, and no scholarship money at all thus far... so the handbook doesn't necessarily mean $$

oh yeah, just to clarify - I was talking about someone's experience where they specifically got the accepted students' stuff in the mail with no email beforehand, but indications that the package was the second communication since they were admitted. so it was a clear mix-up as opposed to the typical admitted students' stuff

np! though I am an ED admit so not sure how representative that is.
Well, I'm mostly just trying to figure out when I can reasonably assume I was passed over if I don't get a packet since I am in Texas.

well, it seems people continue to be admitted well into the Spring normally, so I'm assuming not for a while... am I missing something here?

Quite a few people including myself just got admitted yesterday via e-mail, so I think people are just wondering whether they were included in this "wave" or not. It is especially confusing/exciting because some people are getting physical mail delivered before they get any electronic notification.

Exactly. Obviously I know I haven't been rejected yet but since I applied in September, if I didn't get in this week I woild consider it being passed over in this wave.

Same, but keep the faith dude. Late Jan is still early in Columbia terms. No freaking out until this time next month, at least.

Have those who first heard through snail mail received any kind of email follow-up since?

When did people who got in via snail mail have status checker changes? My mailman gives us other people's mail every day, and I'm terrified that if I get in I'll never know.
