yeah its kinda pointless. I guess maybe it just relieves the anxiety that some people get when they wonder if something has actually happened to their app without the status checker being updated to reflect that.rion91 wrote:So the date just changes? wut

for me, the nice thing about the mich status checker was that you knew it would change once, every day, so you could just check it each morning and know your status every day (which contrasts with the refreshrefreshrefresh going on looking for NYU DLS). but then that person said his changed in the middle of the day so lol never mind I guess.

I was passing time on LSN, and noticed that there are no reported acceptances for anyone with >175 LSAT. Looking at the spreadsheet, there is one anon with a 177/3.98, but other than that, all acceptances have a LSAT of 174 or lower.
Kinda weird.

think about how small the sample size of >175 is....tk17 wrote:I was passing time on LSN, and noticed that there are no reported acceptances for anyone with >175 LSAT. Looking at the spreadsheet, there is one anon with a 177/3.98, but other than that, all acceptances have a LSAT of 174 or lower.

Well, two things:
1) The pool of people with 175+ LSATs on LSN for this cycle is pretty small right now (http://search.lawschoolnumbers.com/user ... Applicants), probably because:
2) The overall number of applicants with those scores is pretty small, making it easier to ID them if they post their stats publicly at this stage.

But there are definitely applicants with those scores that have applied. And every other T14 that is making a significant number of decisions (NYU, Duke, UVA, Georgetown... did I miss anyone?) has reported admittances from people above the 175 line. Michigan's LSN looks like a hard line at 174, where the other schools' LSNs are much more scattered. This makes which makes me wonder if it's intentional. Maybe a manifestation of YP?

What looks fishy? Slow day at my office so I looked at all of those 175+ profiles -- none of them have even added Michigan to their school list.tk17 wrote:Wow. I didn't realize the sample was THAT small....LetsGoMets wrote:Well, two things:

Michigan YPs. It doesn't do so as vigorously as UVA or Penn but it does. I'm pretty sure you can observe it in past cycles on LSN.tk17 wrote:Wow. I didn't realize the sample was THAT small....LetsGoMets wrote:Well, two things:

The line of acceptances at 174 on LSN with nothing above it looks fishy to me.LetsGoMets wrote:

Not inclusive, but a sample of people with 175+ who have applied to Michigan on LSN. These might be the same as those who are on the spreadsheet. Maybe not.
We know that UM yield protects. I'm just pointing out that it's odd that we haven't seen any acceptances for people with 175+ for UM when we have for all the other T14 schools currently sending out acceptances.

Okay, I put too much trust in LSN's search function, three of those did not show up in my search, which was just all users 175-180 for this cycle, no other restrictions except allowing for those who didn't list LSDAS or Degree GPA. You could be on to something, or it could be coincidental, though like you said we know Michigan YPs.tk17 wrote:The line of acceptances at 174 on LSN with nothing above it looks fishy to me.LetsGoMets wrote:
