I just realized my last comment is probably prone to misinterpretation, and as future law students, obviously we can't have that. So, for the record, I was only joining in on the happiness for ITFR. I myself have not heard anything from UT.Big Red wrote:Congrats!nosocat wrote:+1 Yay!FairchildFLT wrote:Hey, great to hear!!!IsThisForReal wrote:In today!!! GPA<<25th LSAT>75th

Waitlisted this morning. Legitimately surprised, and really bummed. Just below median LSAT, 4.0x, years of working in Austin in the field. I'm riding it out and retaking, good luck to everyone else. Anyone know what the waitlist prospects typically are for UT?

For those talking about COL, I would like to shed some light on things. While yes, it can be done cheaply, law school living is expensive. Not just books, but come time for interviews, networking events, travelling to different places to visit with firms, etc. it can add up fast. While you definitely can live on ~ 15k/year, I feel like it is a bit harder to do that in law school than UG and the 20k is definitely a bit better reflection unless you already have plenty of nice clothes, don't booze and shmooze, etc.

Sorry to hear about the WLs this morning for my fellow held ED applicants, I am sure I will be joining you shortly.
At what point do you guys think I should call and check on my application? I applied ED in October and had not heard anything by mid-December and called the admissions office and was told that they decided to hold me over but forgot to inform me. What are the chances that they forgot about me again? Based on last year's thread it seems that all the held ED applicants that were accepted were called one day and then the rest were waitlisted/rejected the next day...

Not sure. It can't hurt to call and check on the status of your application, especially given the occurrence earlier this semester.
I was also held from ED and haven't received word on my app.

I'm a held ED. No call yesterday, no email today (so far). I know that at least one of yesterday's admits has numbers lower than mine, so I am feeling a little curious as to what the secret sauce is that makes the difference...kfree wrote:Sorry to hear about the WLs this morning for my fellow held ED applicants, I am sure I will be joining you shortly.

Went complete in the second week of November. Radio silence since. Starting to think my application dropped behind a desk or something.

My husband was rolled over from ED and hasn't heard anything. I think I'm more anxious than he is. I accepted a firm job in Austin so we're really hoping he gets in to UT!

I may be in Austin next week and was considering requesting a meeting (which I've heard they're pretty willing to schedule if you ask). I was rolled over from ED and heard nothing since. Any suggestions on what I should ask/discuss/say?

Go for it! I don't think it could hurt. Maybe just ask them when you should expect to hear anything, why they decided to hold you, what the prospects look like for people who still haven't heard? etc. Let us know if you do meet with them! I would love to know what they saynicefunguy wrote:I may be in Austin next week and was considering requesting a meeting (which I've heard they're pretty willing to schedule if you ask). Dinged this morning via email. I was a held ED applicant 166, 3.45. Can't say I am shocked, but definitely disappointed.
