business casual should be fine. but you can always go full business if that makes you happy / more secure.floridaxrose wrote:Any idea on dress code for interviews? Should I calll? There's nothing listed in email.

Make it three. The worst part is that my mother was the primary breadwinner in the family and she died over 11 years ago. I don't remember about Georgetown, but I know that when I filled at Berkeley's questionnaire they specifically stated to list the last income of the deceased.accessislife wrote:seconded.hereisonehand wrote:Yeah this, very much.tk17 wrote:As an older applicant, I find the fact that my parent's information is considered in the need-based aid decision to be insulting and offensive. My confirmation email for the group interview said business casual.floridaxrose wrote:Any idea on dress code for interviews? Should I calll? There's nothing listed in email.
A couple people out of 10 were wearing suits, and a few were on the causal side of business casual. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

No tie/suit necessary. Dean Cornblatt was wearing ratty jeans in mine.tk17 wrote:My confirmation email for the group interview said business casual.floridaxrose wrote:Any idea on dress code for interviews? Should I calll? There's nothing listed in email.

So of the 10 people at my interview, Four of the women wore pantsuits, one wore a nice blouse and slacks. Of the men, two wore button down shirts and slacks, two wore suits and ties, and I wore a button down shirt with a tie and vest, but no jacket. Dean Cornblatt wore a tie. My advice would be to dress how you'd feel comfortable presenting yourself. If you aren't comfortable in a suit, feel free to go a bit less formal.hereisonehand wrote:business casual should be fine. but you can always go full business if that makes you happy / more secure.floridaxrose wrote:Any idea on dress code for interviews? So based off LSN - around the 14 day post-completed mark we should start obsessively checking mail, right?

It's tough. There's an expected individual contribution and an expected parental contribution. I don't really know how schools calculate it, but I imagine if your parents make a ton it could lead to a large expected parental contribution. Even if you're paying for your own school.Lions1913 wrote:So it sounds like if your parents make enough money, even if you're paying for school and not them, then you get no need aid?tk17 wrote:From what I can tell, almost all schools (except for HYS, which use a sliding scale starting at age 26) take parental information into account no matter how old you are. I think Georgetown does this as well, but I'm not 100% sure.hereisonehand wrote:

21 year old here, since I'm married I don't have to provide information for my parents. Thus my EFC is 0 every year.
