Well, close to last years median.

Given the changes that are occurring in law school admissions, it is likely that many schools will be seeing their medians drop.

How is GW with negotiating? I have 25k/year from Fordham, 27k/year from Emory. Only 10k/year at GW. What gives?

I just talked with the dean of admissions. She said the first round went out to people with 169s and up, give or take a point or two, and that was in early January. She said the next round will be at the end of February (so next week?) but didn't tell me what scores would be considered. Then the last round will be at the end of March, and after that there won't be any money left over.

So to all of you who got money and don't have 169s...how did you get your money already? Was it definitely a merit scholarship, or was it based on something else?
This is helpful. I just talked with someone in the office, not with the Dean of Admissions.

I don't know how reliable that information is. I got my acceptance the beginning of December, and I had a 165 LSAT. I received an email about a month ago regarding scholarship money. They said in the email that it was a merit scholarship.

I haven't heard that. It sounds like that there are multiple waves, and your numbers determine when they give you scholarship information.

Not too tough to imagine really--2.8 GPA. I still thought I'd get *something* tho....

They might be holding off on splitters until they have a better idea of the incoming class and then they can use you guys to shore up their weaker medians.

Update on negotiating, I emailed GW with info from other schools to begin negotiating and they said they have too much going on at the moment, but would love to reconsider my scholly right around March 31st. They're waiting for seat deadlines, but seem very open to negotiations.

To echo gbelle, I would be extremely surprised if you weren't given a good bit of $$$.
GW appears to have been reasonably splitter-friendly last cycle: http://gw.lawschoolnumbers.com/applicants/1213

Would GW negotiate based on scholarships from George Mason or William & Mary?

Just my .02, I was admitted on 12/3 and didn't receive scholly money email till 2/3. The ASW states scholarships are awarded beginning in February and the admissions office will continue make merit awards every few weeks until all merit funds are exhausted.

So everyone stay calm, they are coming.

With all that being said, I definitely want to negotiate with them, I received more from Emory, Wash U in St. Louis and Boston University. How is GW at negotiating?

So, I'm apparently incredibly unlucky because the only time I can get to DC to tour schools is during GWU's spring break. Long shot here, but has anyone here taken an unguided tour of the campus? Do you know if the library and buildings will be open?

ALSO if anyone has taken the guided tour or sat in on a class and wouldn't mind messaging with me to give me an idea of the atmosphere that would be amazing. Thanks in advance, guys!!!
