Johnny-come-lately check-in! Hopefully I'll wrap up my PS this weekend and send out apps Tuesday. Fingers crossed.

I have a question. For the writing portion of the application, it says "any written work you’ve produced ... under the supervision of an academic advisor or professional editor." What sorts of things did you guys put for this? Short of writing a thesis, which I did not do, I'm not sure what kind of writing qualifies as under the supervision of someone. I am reluctant to leave it blank but I don't want to misrepresent anything.

I wrote about my thesis and a few articles I wrote for my job (they were year-long, major projects). I didn't include any minor publications, because I write a lot at the organization I work for. Got a JS1 too. Good luck!

I put some research papers I wrote. Got a JS1, do not think it mattered.

Were they research papers you just wrote on your own and turned in for a grade? Or was there a lot of feedback you got while writing it? I can put down a research paper or two I wrote, but I'm anxious that it might come up and they'll feel like I was disingenuous.

They were papers that I personally did get a lot of feed back on, because I wanted to get an LOR from this person and I liked the topic, but I was likely going beyond what the paper required.

I feel like a good test for this is:

Did you do it for a class? Did everyone in your class have to write a paper like you did? If so -> No

But I agree... I don't think it matters. Especially from UG... remember, there are people with PhDs and other graduate degrees applying.

Is it bad that the first thing I thought when I read this was "Okay, leaving it blank if you don't have anything sounds like the credited response"? The LSAT infected my life.
Anyway it sounds like not putting something that I don't have should be fine. Thanks for the advice. I will probably be asking for more the next two days :D

The links don't expire, so you'll be fine waiting if you'd like to. I only picked my slot immediately so that my ideal day/time wouldn't get taken by someone else.

Are the interviews only during the week or are conducting them also during the weekend? Can someone with a js1 look at the online schedule? Thanks!

I would also love to hear people's thoughts on this. I haven't posted too much specific information, but my screen name could easily give me away based on my personal statement.

This is probably an overneurotic question, but I'm having space issues on my PS and I don't want to screw it up. What did the formatting of your PS look like? Was your "Name/LSAC/Personal statement" in the page's header or did you have in on three separate lines at the top left/right? And did you guys have a blank line between each non-indented paragraph? A space is the norm in a professional letter, and it looks nicer, but it's almost a whole paragraph of space. Agh.

OMG the neuroticism ITT is crazy! Last year's thread seemed pretty chill and fun...let's all relax!

Regarding the personal statement, I put my info in the header of the document. For the question about delaying scheduling, why not just go ahead and schedule it? Maybe I'm missing something. And for the question about watching what you say in these forums, it's probably a good idea

I need to get this app finished ASAP.

I thought I would be okay with applying a bit late but seeing everyone getting their JS1's is making me super excited and nervous.

Damn.

Shut up. You could turn your application in next April and still be fine.
