I got a call last night at 11pm from a 650 number. It was a telemarketer (does the Do Not Call list mean anything these days?). But I still thought for a split second that it might be good news.

I feel bad because I definitely took out my frustrations on the poor telemarketer guy.

That is the absolute worst feeling in the world. I am just relieved that I'm not actually from California because if I had friends with a 650 area code and they tried to contact me... let's just say that it would not be pretty, and leave it at that

I got a call from someone with a CA number a few weeks ago. I was so excited that I picked up... and it was some dude trying to buy a Facebook page I own for a lowball offer that I had been trying to avoid -____-.

Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately for the sake of my productivity), Stanford's status checker is very uneventful. It goes from incomplete to submitted for review very quickly, and then doesn't change at all until you go DLS.

I don't think it's been showing up before the phone call. From reading last year's thread, usually admitted applicants received the phone call before the status change, but if you went DLS and didn't receive a phone call imminently, it meant a WL/ding.

Last year a batch of acceptance calls were made on Tuesday, January 15th. The batch before that was the previous Wednesday (Jan 9th). Last Monday, a few calls went out. Thus, I am going to predict (on little to no evidence) that calls will come out either tomorrow or Friday.

Lolololol I was just reading through the 2016 thread and was about to report back with similar info. Looks like they did Tuesday(15th/22nd)/Thursday(17th/24th) calls in mid-late January last year, then went to Wednesday calls on 1/30 (which was the first December/January submit acceptance reported).

I swear I'm not actually this neurotic normally, Dean Deal. I just love Stanford that much.
