Anyone else get a phone call today? I missed a call from the admissions office and didn't have my voicemail set up I couldn't reach anyone when I called back, so I'm curious if anyone heard anything today... scholarship reconsideration, perhaps??

I am wait listed at Minnesota. My scores are no where near the averages, but there must have been something about my application they liked. It is my dream to go here, as I am currently in the Carlson School of Management at Minnesota. Does anyone have any advice how to get off the wait list?

Got scared away from getting an MBA, eh? Good luck! I'd say if you have a decent GPA just wait and retake in June/work for a year or two then retake. No reason to go straight out of undergrad. If you are really confident in your abilities and want to practice in the Cities you could also look to St. Thomas or Hamline (or William Mitchell) retake the LSAT and reapply to UMN next cycle

Anybody going to ASW this weekend? What is suggested attire for Friday/Saturday? I have been to 3 of these so far and 2 have been business casual and one was just casual. Of course- even at business casual there were suits and shorts.

The people at the March ASW were surprisingly consistent. I didn't see anyone in a suit or anyone who was obviously underdressed. You could get away with jeans and a button-down shirt, but every guy I saw was in some combination of khakis/slacks with a polo/button-down.

Thank you Minneapolis is freaking awesome. If I hadn't gotten exactly the result I wanted at Madison I was seriously considering at year off and retake to get my LSAT into MN attractive territory (shh... it's just that Iowa City is so... in Iowa...). Ya'all will love it up there.

Thanks, my numbers are really quite low for Minn, so I'll be shocked if I get in: 160/3.17, 3.17 is a science GPA from Berkeley (not that it makes any real difference though), but I do have 7 years of quality work experience in the biotech industry, not in scientific research, but more on the business side.

That doesn't look too promising but they have been a bit odd this year. If you can, just retake the LSAT and try again next year (or take the June LSAT and try to get pulled off the WL then)

Just withdrew my application, hope someone else gets my monie$$$ to go to Minnesota, really loved the school but it didn't make much financial sense to go considering some of my other offers and, you know, the cold.

Hi all, I was recently admitted and I am considering visiting the school. I have never been to Minnesota, but I am from the Midwest and I know people who live there say it's great. I am busy with work these days, and I am thinking about sending in my deposit without visiting.

What should I do?

Visiting first would be ideal of course.

I have some friends who didnt visit, and just showed up in august... They seemed fine with their decision to do that.
