Me! But I'm LSATing tomorrow, so that might be part of it. I should have been denied by now.bluegreen wrote:anyone else been complete since before 12/15?

Does UT give out travel stipends to visit the school?

On that note, I am hoping for to be offered a travel "scholarship" since I meet the scores Dean Ingram cited above. Has anyone been contacted about receiving one yet or do you think I should just reach out to them?risa wrote:Texas (from Dean Ingram's posts on the admits' facebook page):
ASD will be March 21 22, 2013. There may be several competing school events so we have optional streamlined events as well on April 5th and 12th. We definitely hope you can visit with us on one of those days.We do not offer travel stipends. However, we offer travel scholarships for a limited number of admitted students to attend our ASD program/OMVs (Organized Mini-Visits). Travel Scholarship Offers will be sent late January/February. Merit criteria for travel scholarships begins at a 169/3.6 for admitted students currently residing outside the state of Texas.

Thanks for the post. I guess it couldnt hurt to reach out to them. My numbers are a bit below those stipends but I may just politely ask if I could receive one.

That's a good idea. It also wouldn't hurt to indicate your financial need (if any) when asking and your strong desire to actually attend the school.timeandspace11 wrote:risa wrote:Quoting my post from this thread: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 8&t=200592timeandspace11 wrote:Does UT give out travel stipends to visit the school?

Any ideas on when they will start getting around to those who were held from EA?

Re: University of TEXAS c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
I was held in December and got accepted a couple of weeks ago via phone call. I thought maybe my new LORs helped, but a couple other splitters like me were accepted on the same day, so it was probably purely a numbers thing.The-Specs wrote:Any ideas on when they will start getting around to those who were held from EA?
I think being held is still a good place to be in, and I have a good feeling you will get in eventually!

Congrats!!TARPIK wrote:Got In..!!![]()

I mean I've only lived in Austin for like a year and a half but I know it's "y'all" not "yal"blackmooncreeping wrote:Another 1L here. I'll try to answer whatever questions yal have provided that at least one of yal buys me a drink at the first bar review of your illustrious law career.

Do you find that your initial career goals (if any) have shifted as your first year has progressed? Has UT had any particular influence on what you want to go into now?blackmooncreeping wrote:Another 1L here. IN! Just got the phone call! I'm so so so excited! If you had told me a year ago I'd want to attend UT I'd call you crazy but I don't think I'm going to have to leave Austin yet!
