I didn't have any updates at all. Went from complete on 11/12 straight to being held. Looks like GULC wants to see the December LSAT apps before they make a decision on some of us hahaslawww wrote:I concur. I'm curious, was this the third update for everyone who updated today?KanyeShrug wrote:Ding by Snail Mail = Death by Stoning
I was complete 11/2. Updates: 11/6, 11/14, 11/29.
I know most schools, it seems, send out acceptances in one batch one day, usually separate from the dings. Then again, I'm just anxiously speculating.

Is this the same as a WL?Thank you for applying to the Juris Doctor program at Georgetown University Law Center. The record you present is a strong one, and the Committee on Admissions has chosen to postpone your final decision.
Each year, a large number of candidates submit applications to Georgetown Law early in the process. The high quality of this group makes the Committee's decisions extremely difficult. Please be aware that only a small number of early applicants have had their applications held, and a number of those applicants in past years have subsequently been admitted.
Once we have a better sense of the entire applicant pool, the Committee on Admissions will review your application again. No additional information is necessary, and the Credential Assembly Service (CAS) will continue to send us updates, which we will add to your file. A final decision will be mailed no later than Thursday, February 28, 2013.
On behalf of the Committee, we appreciate your patience and continued interest in Georgetown.
I have very similar stats to you and was held as well. At least it's better than a rejection...February will come soon enough and we will know what they've decided.

This 11/29 update is definitely my third. I honestly thought 11/14 was my third, but I guess I was mistaken. Taken in context though, many TLSers' third update was 11/14, so I'm sure there are many who had their first or second update(s) today.slawww wrote:I concur. Just PM'ed a fellow TLS'er who was unfortunately dinged. He said his rejection notification was sent via e-mail.

The anxiety would shift from "I hope I get in" to "I hope I can pay for this"

That's whose LSN I was referring to! OK, scratch that -- I guess they don't use extra paper for rejection letters.slawww wrote:Definitely rejection. It was The Thriller, for verification. Hey, does anyone know what the deal is with the open houses? I was considering going to the January one, but I'm not sure that anyone goes to these things.

I'm going to the one in January. Did you join the Facebook group for admitted students? A few people were on there talking about going, so I'm pretty sure it'll be a decent turnout. I can't wait to be back on that campus.Eichörnchen wrote:Hey, does anyone know what the deal is with the open houses? No I haven't yet. I suppose I'll do that now. I wanted to go to the ASW, but I'm assuming it will be in March (aren't most?) and I'm planning a long trip that, if I can pull it off, should probably begin mid-March at the latest unless I want to die of heatstroke.DJT wrote:I'm going to the one in January. does everyone, regardless of whether they are rejected/WL'd/accepted, get a "decision sent" update on their status checker?

I'm not sure about people who were given an official status, but my application was one of the "held" ones (so I guess wait-list purgatory) and my status checker only updated the date. It still says "application completed."woolfiot wrote:does everyone, regardless of whether they are rejected/WL'd/accepted, get a "decision sent" update on their status checker?

I tried to search through the thread, but I couldn't find/overlooked where anyone mentioned this. Are you notified of a waitlist through snail mail or email?
Thanks!
