no JS1.5 rejects, as far as we know?

This is why my optimism has not yet increased. The 1200 JS1s has not been whittled down yet...

So far we know of one who's been rejected and I know of one who withdrew.

"i can't tell you how many people i know that go here and got in off the waitlist. an ENORMOUS amount, at least in terms of percentage. i'm not sure if it's because people end up choosing yale/stanford? who knows. (oh, i also just remembered that a ton of people defer -- they want to travel or do something else for a year before coming here. also really common.) there's a LOT of movement. if i remember correctly, i think i know someone who got in 2 weeks before classes started. so, stay hopeful!"

Oh no, you should be telling me that no one gets in off the waitlist and it is a hopeless endeavor. Now if I get WL'd I'm going to be painfully optimistic every day like I am now

There are some indications that they are trying to move away from this practice (admitting a ton off the WL) by admitting more people earlier on. Don't quote this. Also don't ask for sources. You'll have to trust me.

I think we're safe until Monday. Last wave the JS1s got dinged mainly on the second day.

LS, do you have any idea if that will translate to more held (in practice) applicants being accepted. My worry is that they'll just fill up with people who applied recently....
