Confession time.... I have never had Boba and am not even quite clear about what it is.

Technically boba refers to the tapioca pearls that people often add to the drink, but it is also used colloquially to refer to the drink itself. The drink to my knowledge consists of iced tea, (soy) milk, and simple syrup. I actually don't like the tapioca so I just get the milk tea, which ends up being kind of like an iced latte.

Yeah there were only a handful Asian students when I visited. Also FWIW quite a few seemed to be int'l students as opposed to Americans of Asian descent.

guys, skewed perspective? y`all did undergrad in California (myself included), so maybe wustl has a disproportionately high percentage of Asians... in comparison to the rest if the Midwest.

EDIT to add: i hate boba. too sweet.

bobacity is the most important factor for me in a law school, even outside job prospects and money. I live for boba. boba is heaven on earth. Pearls are like little angels (unless you choke on them).

But yeah there are wayyyy more asians on the coasts. But I think WUSTL as a university still garners a lot of interest from Asians...i know there are plenty of Asians in the undergrad program. Not sure about the law school though, but whatever I like being relatively exotic. Obviously nothing will compare to the cali schools where it's like 40-50% Asian at schools like Berkeley and UCLA (for undergrad)

Hi Dmini7,
We are still making scholarship decisions and are continuing to send them out
throughout this week. I would recommend checking back later this week or early next
to see if we have sent out all scholarship decisions if you have still not gotten an
award.

I received this on April 1st when I asked.

Because of their disregard of other deposit deadlines, I doubt I would end up attending now. I mean, I love this thread and the people in it, but I haven't gotten the feeling that they really care too much about their prospective students.

I'm going to call Friday if I haven't heard. This is by far the bigget question mark remaining in my cycle.

Also, I contacted them last week and they said to ahead and send any other offers I have. So, thinking I might just skip the first negotiation step, I did. Unfortunately, this has probably delayed them making their initial offer.

Some of the waitlisted applicants at WUSTL should hold on until at least after April 15, the first deposit deadline (for a lot of schools). I know I am going to withdraw soon once things are wrapped up at a different school, so that opens up both a spot in the class and scholarship money. I think there will be plenty of scholarship money left after or around that date.

HAHA well it's because the bubbles suck in Boston. I was in LA last week and their bubble tea is amazing. I heard it's better in Nova and Atlanta as well.

My friend works at a boba place and gets us free leftover bubbles from the day and we just store it in the fridge and put it in 7-11 smoothies ..

Sometime in July, after i've found housing and truly have nothing else to do, i'll put together the Bubble Tea rankings. Law schools ranked according to their proximity to bubble tea establishments. I'm thinking UCLA/USC will lead the way

I'm from a coast, so again, used to many Asians. While WUSTL was not full of Asians, there was a smattering, and I echo the comments that whatever one's color, everyone seemed very mingly and friendly overall. Hope that helps.

The boba tea place that I saw was in the Loop. Given that the entire weekend was a caloric disaster, I did not stop in. But the MidWest has a lot of down home burgers and fries and beer places. We made sure to sample several. I would have to make a concerted effort to exercise if I lived there. I was astounded at the food prices, on the whole. It's like the whole city's on sale, if you're from a coast.

I wonder how successful I'd be if i operated one of those Korean taco trucks on the side....Does the ABA have rules against 1L's working? I heard 1L's aren't allowed to work more than 20 hours or something...but still I think i could keep it under 20 hours if it was an after-10pm food truck or something.
