is anyone considering trying to bargain their award up?

I attempted to negotiate but never received a response. According to an admissions officer on the FB group, the initial scholarship offer is the most competitive one they can make. I'll try to get clarification.

Just got the phone call, I'm in! This is the highest ranked US school I applied to which I only did because they gave me a fee waiver. Soooo glad I did! Now it's making me wonder if I should've aimed higher.

U apply to wustl- 167 seems to be auto admit regardless of gpa

He didn't mention scholarship money during my call either, but I did receive the award info in the admissions packet.

Damn I got the cold Minnesota response today.
WL- 158, 3.84 URM

Seriously, what the hell. I get accepted to Vandy (sent app 1/13/10) and get WL from UMN (sent 12/17/09). Can someone provide me with a possible rational for that?

Sorry about the waitlist, I'm not sure. You're a "Consider" on LSP for both schools. Vandy does interview, perhaps that gave you an edge there? Sometimes the depth of a candidate doesn't translate well into written text.

this school has been my only 'ding' so far. 3.4/165
.5 lower GPA and +2 on LSAT is admit. surprised I didn't even get WL.

Nonetheless, congrats that you (and everyone else) did get admitted. This was initially my top choice school and although I slightly envy you guys, I also realize that the midwest isn't for me anyway.

But I didn't interview at Vandy or write any Why Vandy essay. I submitted my app after deadline for Interview requests lol. This is perplexing. I guess this cycle is pretty unpredictable.
