Yeah, I know I'm finished. I'm just trying to decide if I'm going to take the Feb LSAT to see if I can score a ~20K scholly @ any of MVP.boo_pragmatism wrote:There was never any hope for us, my friend. Boo and Hopeful - I know it's tough... But NEVER GIVE UP... NEVER SURRENDER!!
(well at least not yet!!) We still have one more week left.... It might be that U Chicago is waiting to deliver all the remaining ED decisions (acceptances/waitlist/defers/rejections) toward the end of the month because they are going "paperless" this year - a new move that probably changes the way they're going to do things this year. I bet you a nickel there will still be a few ED acceptances.... maybe one of you will be the lucky one ---- If you are I'll being sending you a care package full of Marie Calendar deliciousness!

172. Yeah, that's possible but I'm looking for 20k/yr. But it's not like they'd revoke a scholly if I scored the same, especially since it's above all their 75ths. And by the time June rolls around, all the $$ will be gone so can't wait until then. Whatever, we'll see.boo_pragmatism wrote:You are a 171, right? I'd hold off, a scholly might already be in the works.hopefulundergrad wrote:Yeah, I know I'm finished. i don't understand your reasoning: wouldn't they be indifferent to any lsat that is already above their 75th? you've already proven that you can score well. now, if you're looking to improve your prospects at hls or chicago, it might make sense to retake.

Under review 12/21. Complete early December. Based on past data/hearsay, when can we expect to hear back?Helmholtz wrote:UR 12/21annabell wrote:When did all of you with 12/21 "under reviews" go complete, if I can ask?

Early Dec? I guess they aren't doing things strictly in chronological order after all.mochafury wrote:Under review 12/21. Complete early December. Re: U Chicago 2010
Hmmm, I guess that's true logically but think of it this way: a 171 3.8 isn't going to get a Darrow invite. However, a 176 3.8 probably would. Both of those LSATs are above Michigan's 75% and both impact the median the same way, but the later will still get a bigger scholly.talibkweli wrote:i don't understand your reasoning: wouldn't they be indifferent to any lsat that is already above their 75th? you've already proven that you can score well. now, if you're looking to improve your prospects at hls or chicago, it might make sense to retake.
Also, all the conjecture about schools attempting to up their medians (and by extension, 25%s and 75%s) seems to be ringing true. So it may very well be that by the end of the cycle, or at least by the time merit aid is awarded, 172 is not as competitive as it would have been last year.

Hope is a tremendous thing.
I believe that we can actually influence decisions made thousands of miles away by our strong hope and desire.
Complete 9/25

Hey, I did NOT think I was going to get in. I am not URM, no outstanding softs (just work), top 50 Ugrad, 171/3.5. Historically, those have not been good odds. But I applied way back in September and I got the call on the 18th. So, Boo and Hopeful, and anybody else waiting... take heart, good luck, hope to see you in the fall.

So if I applied before the people who went under review on Monday, and I am still not under review (scores above medians), should I be really worried or expecting a reject (the 8-10 weeks after completion that Chicago mentions in its emails will end within a few weeks and I am not even under review yet). What do you all think?

I'm in your position, not yet under review despite complete on 11/3; scores above both 75ths. Don't be too worried.annabell wrote:So if I applied before the people who went under review on Monday, and I am still not under review (scores above medians), should I be really worried or expecting a reject (the 8-10 weeks after completion that Chicago mentions in its emails will end within a few weeks and I am not even under review yet). what the hell is up w/ UChicago? Complete since 10/29 RD, I'm not even UR yet?? Is that normal or does it mean they just don't want me. If so, I'd appreciate a simple rejection much more...

As I said earlier, I am also still at Complete 10/29 regular decision. LSN in profile; I have competitive, though certainly not auto-admit stats for UChicago, so I'm not sure what/if anything that means. I personally think they just quite haven't gotten to the very end of October yet, so I'm not terribly worried.

As I've also mentioned before, I am still at Complete 11/3 regular decision without having gone under review. Like you, I think that they must not have reached that point in the calendar for RD. There were more EDs than usual this year, so they may have taken longer to work through them. My LSN is in my profile too; I like to think that my stats are extremely competitive.5ky wrote:SanBun wrote:what the hell is up w/ UChicago? Complete since 10/29 RD, I'm not even UR yet?? So I know this has probably been asked a million times, but does it mean anything that my fees section looks like this
Fees
Date Due Amt. Due Amt. Paid Date Paid
: 10/27/2009 75.00 75.00 10/27/2009
Class Deposit Received: 0.00 .00
Does everyone have the class deposit line?
