Anyone know what the employment prospects are like in Ithaca/around Ithaca for corporate work? I'm married, so when choosing a law school I need to take into account if my husband will find a job

To be more specific, he has worked the past 2.5 years at United Health Group and is starting a new position at Thrivent Financial on Monday. He does corporate innovation stuff and could really work in any kind of business that needs innovating lol.

Corporate work in Ithaca is virtually nonexistent. Most law student spouses find work teaching or working for the University. Rochester, Binghamton, and Syracuse are within a somewhat reasonable commuting distance, and I'm sure more companies are based there, but I'm not sure what the corporate employment prospects are like.

Submitted today. LSAT >75. GPA - Superior. Hope not too late.

Definitely not too late, but it may take a little longer for them to get back to you.

That's relieving to know. So I am looking at end of Jan for interview if at all?

I interviewed around then, too, and my status checker still says "interview requested." However, I submitted my interview way after the 10-day mark. Even though I was in contact with Admissions and Kira Talent's IT people to make them aware of the situation (technical difficulties -- had to travel out of town to get a strong enough wifi connection) and explained that the delay was in no way indicative of my interest (or, rather, lack thereof) in Cornell, I'm still worried that they're planning to WL/ding me for failing to submit it on time.

I'm hoping the wait isn't necessarily a bad thing, since Cornell hasn't been shy about waitlisting/dinging a bunch of people soon after they interviewed.

Ok, that makes me feel better. I haven't been watching Cornell's movement too closely partially out of fear and a sense of impending doom. Another factor might be if you retook the LSAT. Presumably, they just got my Dec. score and had to add it to my file, which would also explain why it's taking a bit longer to hear back.

I think the wait is a good thing! For some people, they were rejected before their score even came out.

Was UR2 12/2 and was just put on reserve through status checker. LSAT>>75th and GPA=25th.

Didn't get the email yet though.

Surprised because almost all of you have numbers that would, IMO, are strong enough for Cornell...which is why I think it's weird...

I didn't interview. Got the email then saw someone on here say they saw it via status checker so I peeked at the status checker as well, which was updated.
