Re: Georgetown C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Got an interview request and was unable to go to both of the ones in the area - would it hurt to send them an email saying I'm still interested if they open up any other interviews or will it not really matter? I'm over their 75th for lsat and above 25th for GPA. I didn't write an extra essay because they all sounded disingenuous and didn't want that to hurt my chance, but I also don't want to be waitlisted at this point for not showing enough interest

In your situation, I would consider sending an explanatory email but also include a tiny bit (like a sentence or two) of "why gtown" to make yourself sound genuinely interested.dmp1323 wrote:Got an interview request and was unable to go to both of the ones in the area - would it hurt to send them an email saying I'm still interested if they open up any other interviews or will it not really matter? Was yours for the group or alumni interview? I received a similar request in mid-Oct and explained that I'm not anywhere near DC (Fort Campbell, KY) but that I would still love to participate. My interviewer arranged for a Skype interview (conducted 29OCT15) which, while a little rough due to technical difficulties, was still a great experience. Whether or not it helped my chances at admissions (TBD) I still enjoyed the chance to speak candidly with an Alum.dmp1323 wrote:Got an interview request and was unable to go to both of the ones in the area - would it hurt to send them an email saying I'm still interested if they open up any other interviews or will it not really matter? Mine was a group interview - I think I'm gonna just send them a quick explanatory email and a little "why gtown" like suggestedBDMPKT wrote:Was yours for the group or alumni interview? Try contacting your interviewer and, if you have circumstances that would make it difficult (like, you know, a 6-hour round trip) see if they are open to conducting the interview in an alternate fashion (IE Skype, phone, etc). Make it clear that you really want to take part in the interview and that you want to find a way to make it work.kjm1992 wrote:Okay so I got an alumni interview request and I said I'd be willing to travel up to 2 hours from my area, but the person they set me up with is more like 3 hours.
I'll probably just suck it up, but I was wondering if you guys thought it would be a bad idea to ask if there was anyone closer.

Does GULC update their status checker? Do they ever send decisions my email, or only snail mail?

I got an alumni interview request yesterday. Is that generally a good sign or do they interview most applicants?
