Is there a specific interview thread somewhere?

Ahhh congrats everyone on JS1s!! So jealous and starting to mildly panic. Also submitted early November (11/3) and haven't heard anything yet. Above 75th but very mediocre softs and K-JD.

Don't panic. I submitted 20 minutes after the app opened and just got my JS1 yesterday. You're still super early.publicinterest7 wrote:Ahhh congrats everyone on JS1s!! It took me a while to figure out how to fit a description of my senior thesis in the box without running out of space. And the rest of the time was probably just me double-checking everything a hundred times.cantorb wrote:

For those who received a JS1 - has anyone's status checker changed to reflect the invite/interview in any way? Just curious. My interview was a month ago and my checker still says the complete email was the last thing they sent me.
Fingers crossed for JS2s in December.. that counts as 'around' the New Year, right?

Re: Harvard C/O 2019 Applicants
My status checker says "interview scheduled" after the complete email, I wouldn't worry if you don't have that update though; I feel like it's not a huge deal. Also, I checked last year's thread to see what people were saying about their JS1s and most were reporting that their interviewer said that they weren't going to be getting in touch/giving out decisions any time soon, which is somewhat similar to what people have reported this year (just without the "New Year" caveat). So I'm hoping that this means we could see decisions around the same time.Ensalada wrote:For those who received a JS1 - has anyone's status checker changed to reflect the invite/interview in any way? What does worry me, however, is that last year it seems there were very few decisions sent out on that December 15 wave and then no more decisions were released until mid-late January, which sounds awful.
Anyway, I guess I just put my neuroticism and lack of anything better to do on display for everyone ITT; go easy on me.

Okay cool. Yeah I figured it wasn't a big deal, but nice to know that the status checker truly means nothing.QuentonCassidy wrote:My status checker says "interview scheduled" after the complete email, I wouldn't worry if you don't have that update though; I feel like it's not a huge deal. And I so appreciate your neuroticism because it validates my neuroticism. I agree with your analysis and am going to continue hoping for JS2s in mid December and not even think about that terrible mid-January thing.

Thanks for the encouragement, but irrespective of who is in the first wave, I just hope it is a large wave. Celebrations are more fun when more people are happy hahaoliverotis wrote:Pshh QC, we all know you're gonna be in the first waveQuentonCassidy wrote:My status checker says "interview scheduled" after the complete email, I wouldn't worry if you don't have that update though; I feel like it's not a huge deal. JS1!!!!!!
I thought my stats were way too low. Does anyone know what the correlation is for JS1 timing and acceptance? Is there a certain cut off date such as interview request by a certain time is a better indicator of potential acceptance or anything like that? Sorry if someone already posted about this. Late to the game.

There's definitely a correlation btw JS1 time and JS2 likelihood, but at this point it's probably a wash. Becomes more predictive later in the cycle, e.g. JS1 off the WL much less likely to yield JS2 than JS1 in Oct-Dec.
ETA: Congrats!!!
