On LST http://www.lstscorereports.com/national/, GWU's employment score is much higher than USC's.impalpable wrote:Decision Finalized as well!

I think it really comes down to where you want to be. I'd much rather be in LA than DC so choosing USC would be a no-brainer. And GWU may be ranked higher on LST, but USC did rank higher than GWU on the National Law Journal's recent list of Go-To Law Schools. http://www.nationallawjournal.com/id=12 ... aw-Schoolssvx5013 wrote:On LST, GWU's employment score is much higher than USC's.impalpable wrote:Decision Finalized as well!

Once you remove school funded jobs it is much closer. If you want to be in DC or NYC, I would lean GWU. CA, then USC. They are both pretty regional.svx5013 wrote:On LST http://www.lstscorereports.com/national/, GWU's employment score is much higher than USC's.impalpable wrote:Decision Finalized as well!

101+ big law jobs, GW is 28%, USC is 29.8%, not a huge difference. NLJ's 250 does not include all the biglaws.LaraCroftEsq wrote:I think it really comes down to where you want to be. as long as the school funded jobs are not discounted by LST, that means these are long term, full time school funded positions that are not just constructed for boosting the school's 9 months after graduation employment statistic. For example, graduates can have these indirectly funded jobs while preparing for bar tests, then move on.Winston1984 wrote:Once you remove school funded jobs it is much closer. LST includes an asterisk there so people can see the difference. These school funded jobs change from school to school, but from what I understand about GWU, they pay $15 an hour and are solely to boost employment ratings. I would ask a GWU student.svx5013 wrote:as long as the school funded jobs are not discounted by LST, that means these are long term, full time school funded positions that are not just constructed for boosting the school's 9 months after graduation employment statistic. I see. This year, Emory has the highest school funded positions. But from what I learned from their students, and third parties, as least it is deemed as a positive thing at Emory.Winston1984 wrote:LST includes an asterisk there so people can see the difference. Well, technically if the $15 an hour job lasts for 9 months, it's considered long-term. I think that's garbage, but that's the way the ABA defines it for now. I agree that they are better than nothing, but schools like Emory's and GW's employment score should be taken with a big grain of salt.svx5013 wrote:I see. I believe LST would discount all part time short term school funded positions, so, at least technically, these "bad" school funded positions won't even show up on their report numbers
but maybe it's just a part time job? i don't know...Winston1984 wrote:Well, technically if the $15 an hour job lasts for 9 months, it's considered long-term. hey it could be worse, dream USC could've rescinded their offer given your dirty liberal statusDipper wrote:Last night I dreamt that USC sent me a nastygram letter in response to my request for increased scholarship consideration. thanks, but what do you know, a day later and finally at CR1! maybe I'll send the email anyway just to be safesvx5013 wrote:i think that's what i would do! just shoot them an email, telling them the error, then say sth like USC is still my top choice etc etc...bisa wrote:Hello - long-time lurker here! I’ve finally registered b/c the wait is starting to take its toll…
I went Complete 1/12 and I haven’t seen any movement on my file. I know others stayed at complete for several months (or longer!), but I’m wondering if anyone else from January Completes is still stuck there also.
Also, on my status checker, the LOR section has some errors. My rec writers all have professional prefixes or suffixes, yet on the page, these are all mismatched to the wrong writer. Since the letters are sent via LSAC, the actual letters will not contain this mismatch (won’t affect my file) so I dismissed this as a clerical/inputting error. But now, I’m itching for any communication – do you think it would be a good idea to alert admissions of the discrepancy and then use the email to reiterate my interest in USC (like a LOCI)?
I don’t want to annoy admissions especially after the Feb score influx, but I just want to be under review (& well, get in, of course)!!
