First post from a longtime lurker: just got the phone call from Dean Ingram, I'm in!
Submitted at the start of January, was not asked to write Why UT, LSAT and GPA both >75. OOS. No scholarship info yet, no surprise there.

Scholarship email--awarded $25k per year.
Still nonresident though. Guess that puts sticker COA at $75k?

Once you add in COL it goes up, unless you have COL covered. Add ~ $15-20k/year for COL.Eladriel wrote:Scholarship email--awarded $25k per year.

Non-resident tuition is in the neighborhood of $49,000 and the COL is about $20,500, so overall COA is abut $69,500 per year. That came from the 509 report, which you can find at the following link:Eladriel wrote:Scholarship email--awarded $25k per year.

So nonresident COA without scholarship including COL is $216,500.00 (($49,000*3)+$69,500.00). Meaning with a $25k scholarship COA would be $141,500.00.PN-G bamakid wrote:Non-resident tuition is in the neighborhood of $49,000 and the COL is about $20,500, so overal COA is abut $69,500 per year. Close. I think you got overall COA mixed up with COL; "COL" stands for cost of living, while "COA" stands for cost of attendance, which is tuition plus cost of living. COA for three years is simply $69,500 per year * 3 years, for a total of $208,500 for OOS students without adjusting for annual increases. With a scholarship of $25,000 per year, the total is $133,500.Eladriel wrote:So nonresident COA without scholarship including COL is $216,500.00 (($49,000*3)+$69,500.00). For in-state students, tuition is a little over $33,000 per year. Factor in annual COL, and the total COA for a year is $53,500. For three years, that's a total of $160,500. I personally received a scholarship offer of $7,000 per year, so my total expenditure would be $139,500.

Re: University of Texas C/O 18 Applicants
Got my scholarship email today, for $25k/year (I'm in-state). I'm very excited and probably attending with that amount! I was accepted 1/26.
And for what it's worth, I live in Austin and feel that you can live modestly but pretty easily on $15k/year in this town if you have roommates, don't eat out a ton, etc. Happy to answer more questions about Austin or anything else via PM.
Good luck to everyone still waiting!

I was accepted 1/15, ~75th LSAT & 25>GPA>50 and haven't heard anything about scholarship yet. Should I assume I'm not getting anything?

(fwiw, I haven't heard back yet, but I do live in Austin).
^^ agree on COL generally being closer to 15,000 than 20,000 Especially if you're willing to have a roommate, you can find reasonable (considering Austin COL) places close to campus.

For those still waiting, hang in there.
For those who were accepted, I'm excited for you. I received the call way back in early November, which was 37 internet years ago. I live in Austin and have already signed a lease for a place near the Law School for this fall. Unfortunately, I will be in Breckenridge during ASW, so I won't have the opportunity to rub elbows with my classmates. I'm looking forward to getting to know those of you who matriculate.
Also, the rent is too damn high.

Consensus says if you haven't heard anything within a month don't expect to hear anything. You're not even at three weeks yet, so you're still good.hearsay77 wrote:I was accepted 1/15, ~75th LSAT & 25>GPA>50 and haven't heard anything about scholarship yet. Should I assume I'm not getting anything?
I was accepted 1/12 and haven't heard anything yet either. Hang in there!
