First, thanks Schnaupal for the information - very bold of you considering your case is so specific that they will surely recognize you on the forum and go through your post history now to find something incriminating (kidding!).

Anyway, I'm going to go into denial and keep believing that "today is the day" for post-WL JS1's. It continues to bewilder me that they would interview so many people for so few spots, considering they find 8/10 interviewees to be admittance material in the regular cycle.

Does anyone have a solid guesstimate of how many post-WL interviews they did? I want to say at least 40 based on the number of spots they had when I went in, but I didn't get a solid count because things were fluid and spots were filling and then disappearing.

I have no idea, but what I do know is that the FB group went up by ~25 members on Friday. So, I'd say at least that many JS2s went out.

Rough estimate based on the FB group members. Maybe not? I don't know.
Keep in mind the group has admins and current students, so I would not estimate how many spots are left based on the group's current size. For reference, previous classes have 630-650 members in their FB groups, but it's hard to know how many of those members were added later, etc.

I know for a fact that the group also has students who have committed elsewhere and simply haven't left the group yet. Keep hope alive!!!

It would be nice if HLS kept the group trimmed of those who are committed elsewhere, SLS does so like a hawk (I know from experience  ).

I'm starting to think my problem is I didn't use the Harvard comma in my personal statement.

Mine was definitely one too many split infinitives. I'm sorry, JS. I promise never to do it again. Call me and we can discuss??

Are we still clinging to the idea that well see another JS1 wave or are we resignedly accepting that the ship has sailed?

I worked on a $1B+ swap termination case where one of the key clauses in the derivatives master agreement was grammatically ambiguous in a similar way. The association responsible for crafting the agreement realized the ambiguity and updated it, but the parties neglected to update the version they were using...lesson learned, I guess.

Anyway, although the sentence as written above is ambiguous, whatever its intended meaning it could be rewritten in an unambiguous way while maintaining use of the Oxford comma.
