I haven't heard anything (or received a status checker) yet, but I have gotten a couple alumni emails in the last few days. It's making me very jumpy...

I submitted 2/11 and got the status checker 2/22

I just have a quick question:

Looking through the fee waiver thread, I saw that some Texas residents were given non financial need fee waivers just from being Texas Residents. I go to school in Georgia, but my home is based in Texas(that's where I spend my summers).

Should I be eligible for a Texas Resident fee waiver? If so, should I email admissions explaining that and requesting one asap?

So I did this and they will tell you that you need to make sure the residency in your LSAC profile is Texas and that it will pick you up when they send out their batches of fee waivers. BUT since it is sooo close to the deadline, I would call and ask. Hope this helps.

I doubt they'll refund it. They waived it for all TX residents though if you had TX residency on LSAC.

I wonder if there was some part of the app I didn't fill in. But I surely checked the TX residency on the UT app on LSAC.

No, but I got a very fast acceptance. I've had 2 email me since, one a friend I know. None of which have gotten back to me.

I was a UT undergrad. I haven't been getting emails from individuals. For some reason I have recently been getting a lot of alum newsletters all of a sudden. And any Texas related email is making me jumpy.

If it makes you feel any better, I also have 2 years of work experience and what could be considered unique softs -- but I'm sure that's of little comfort. Regardless, with those stats (especially as a URM) you should definitely be in.

Austinbound, did you write a Why UT? essay? Either way, I think a LOCI or maybe sending some emails restating your desire to attend could go a long way. They really seem to be focusing hard on admitting (and giving money to) applicants who truly want to end up in Austin.

Yeah I'm definitely going to do a LOCI. It was just shitty timing because I literally visited last week. But of course, Dean Ingram had meetings and couldn't meet with me while I was there. I really wanted to demonstrate my interest by meeting with her. I'm probably just going to send a follow up email LOCI and see what ends up happening. I've thought about taking the June LSAT...but I really don't want to lol

Has to be YP. There is no other explanation. They probably just looked at the fact that you are out of state and have the numbers for half of the T14. If you express that you want to go to UT in an LOCI, I am sure they will come around.
