BTW had a dream last night I got in. Don't remember the details but the Russian mob was somehow involved.

That's what I was thinking too, but I've been pending for about a month now and am surprised because I heard about a lot of in-state residents, like myself, getting quick turn arounds. I'm LSAT>50% and GPA>75% and URM.Attax wrote:Are you OOS? It seems to be faster for in stateuvandy wrote:Yall must have good numbers. Took nearly 3 weeks for my status checker. That is odd, as a URM with those stats you should be in already:MnM22 wrote:

But, they may just be holding out a little bit longer since it is getting close to application deadlines, to see what the representation of the class is.

I wonder if there was some part of the app I didn't fill in. But I surely checked the TX residency on the UT app on LSAC.Attax wrote:I doubt they'll refund it. They waived it for all TX residents though if you had TX residency on LSAC.rion91 wrote:They send a refund for the application? I'm a TX resident and saw nothing :/MnM22 wrote:Thanks!Attax wrote:Just a reminder: priority deadline for FAFSA is March 1So I did this and they will tell you that you need to make sure the residency in your LSAC profile is Texas and that it will pick you up when they send out their batches of fee waivers. BUT since it is sooo close to the deadline, I would call and ask. Hope this helps.Cthon wrote:I just have a quick question:
Looking through the fee waiver thread, I saw that some Texas residents were given non financial need fee waivers just from being Texas Residents. I go to school in Georgia, but my home is based in Texas(that's where I spend my summers).
Should I be eligible for a Texas Resident fee waiver? If so, should I email admissions explaining that and requesting one asap?

Also UT undergrad. One issue, most of the alumni I've emailed with haven't called me when they said they wouldrion91 wrote: I am in-state (UT undergrad) and have 163/3.4 but I'm URM. No emails from alumni though.

Do they email you first? Was it before you even were admitted?Attax wrote:Also UT undergrad. One issue, most of the alumni I've emailed with haven't called me when they said they wouldrion91 wrote: I am in-state (UT undergrad) and have 163/3.4 but I'm URM. No emails from alumni though.

No, but I got a very fast acceptance. I've had 2 email me since, one a friend I know. None of which have gotten back to me.rion91 wrote:Do they email you first? I was a UT undergrad. I haven't been getting emails from individuals. For some reason I have recently been getting a lot of alum newsletters all of a sudden. And any Texas related email is making me jumpy.

In state but both my numbers are below median. UT probably has thousands of apps, so no need to get too invested. Are you OOS? It seems to be faster for in state

Okay, now...I have the exact stats, am URM, and have 2 years of WE plus (what I think are) unique softs. I sent in the same time as you and am still pending....this is getting frustrating...just let me in, please!Cactus wrote:Application submitted January 28th, and I received an acceptance via voicemail from Dean Ingram late afternoon on Friday, February 21st.

If it makes you feel any better, I also have 2 years of work experience and what could be considered unique softs -- but I'm sure that's of little comfort. Regardless, with those stats (especially as a URM) you should definitely be in.

Unless the GPA is like a 4 which could be YP.Cactus wrote:Very frustrating, wishing you all the best! I just realized how bratty that sounds. Sorry! I'm just scared because I've been waitlisted by 7 T14 schools and am hoping at least UT works out.Cactus wrote:Very frustrating, wishing you all the best! Waitlist. Looks like I may not be Austinbound afterall.
Attax - wanna throw a pity party with me?
Everyone else -- 3.3/172. Out of state. I was a December taker and didn't submit until ~1/4/14. They aren't kidding when they say it's in the best interest for an OOS applicant to apply as early as possible! I love Austin, so I'll probably ride the waitlist a while, but I have some great offers from other schools! Not as torn up as I thought I would be

Austinbound, did you write a Why UT? essay? Either way, I think a LOCI or maybe sending some emails restating your desire to attend could go a long way. They really seem to be focusing hard on admitting (and giving money to) applicants who truly want to end up in Austin.

Yeah I'm definitely going to do a LOCI. It was just shitty timing because I literally visited last week. But of course, Dean Ingram had meetings and couldn't meet with me while I was there. I really wanted to demonstrate my interest by meeting with her. I'm probably just going to send a follow up email LOCI and see what ends up happening. I've thought about taking the June LSAT...but I really don't want to lol

I feel like I should have wrote a why UT essay weeks ago... Should I email admissions for info or should I just churn it out ASAP and email it to them?

Has to be YP. There is no other explanation. They probably just looked at the fact that you are out of state and have the numbers for half of the T14. If you express that you want to go to UT in an LOCI, I am sure they will come around.
