Feel so late to the party. Status checker just listing application fee as completed right now.

Month+ long status of 'verifying materials for completion' abounds.

Anyone call the Admissions office after a month + without application completion? I know they tend to be slow with the processing, bu I'm getting extremely nervous.

Nah, you gotta play hard to get just like them or they won't be attracted to you.patfeeney wrote:Anyone call the Admissions office after a month + without application completion? I know they tend to be slow with the processing, bu I'm getting extremely nervous.

hmmm... I went complete in two days. I'm guessing from the rest of what I'm hearing that this is pretty (if not incredibly) fast, but a month seems like a long time. You want me to call for you?
but seriously, I think people overestimate how intimidating calling an admissions office really is. Just call, give them the basic info ("I applied around this time, it's been X long, should I be worried?") and most offices, and so I assume Cornell's, will be more than happy to answer and won't even try to figure out who you are (if that's the concern). I promise you this: The fact that you are even considering whether or not to call, whether it's because you don't want to seem like an idiot or a freak or don't want to waste their time or whatever, means that you have more self-awareness than 95% of the people who call these admissions offices every single day. You will NOT stand out in any negative way. Worst case scenario? They say, "Don't worry. A month is normal." and you feel silly for a few minutes, and feel guilty for wasting 10 seconds of their time, and they forget about it in approximately two seconds.

Does anyone know if Cornell goes to "under review" or is complete their under review? Because on the top it says it is "complete and being forwarded to the review committee."

They only have different completes. I know at least some people receive decisions after 4 completes.MnM22 wrote:Does anyone know if Cornell goes to "under review" or is complete their under review? Because on the top it says it is "complete and being forwarded to the review committee."

Did you see the 'what to expect when you're expecting' thread? If so, I apologize for basically reiterating it here, but if not, you should check it out!
Right now, I'm "complete" and have been for a month or so, and I assume i'm under review. Basically, I mention this to underscore the fact that I can't personally verify any of what I'm about to say.
According to the what to expect thread, which, I might add, had been remarkable accurate for all of the other schools for which i've applied, there is no under review at cornell. It would appear that it goes straight from 'complete' to 'congrats' (or, i assume, from complete to rejected--but we don't want to think about that!). nobody seemed to take issue with this version of events, and I haven't seen any contradicting information floating about anywhere. So, while I can't absolutely verify that this is the case, I'd say there is STRONG evidence for the fact that there is no "under review" on their status checker.
I'm sure other, more informed people will chime in shortly...
EDIT: darn my slow typing. Got scooped.
But, the above post did remind me that I'm on my third complete date, a fact I meant to share with all of you fine people but keep forgetting. So, if anyone cares, I can verify that there are at least three complete dates coming to at least some people this cycle

I had four completes. The fourth one was the morning of the day I got in. Later that day the status checker changed to "congrats". HTH.SteelPenguin wrote:They only have different completes.
