Has anyone been in contact with ASU admissions in the past week? Can't seem to get a hold of them easily...

I call them every week and talk with them. There are certain hours they won't answer. They seem to take a two hour lunch and they usually don't like to answer the phones until 10 am their time. They are usually there until 4:30 pm though, 3:30 if they have a meeting. Best time to get a hold of them is at 2:10 pm, in my experience.law0509 wrote:Has anyone been in contact with ASU admissions in the past week? Can't seem to get a hold of them easily...

Re: Arizona State c/o 2015
To folks wondering about living situations: I'm a rising 2L at ASU and I live in downtown Phoenix. I have a few friends who are moving downtown for 2L, I regularly ran into 2Ls and 3Ls at my train stop last year, and I just renewed my lease. I really like it here. There are a few homeless folks, but there's a vibrant coffee shop/ bar/ late night nacho scene happening, and with it's monthly art walks and food truck nights, the Roosevelt area in particular is way fun. Getting to campus via light rail takes about half an hour, and since most of the firms and courts are downtown, you'll likely spend time down here come next Summer. The crowd is a bit more grown up than what you find out in Tempe, and it's easier to get around by bike and public transit than out in the suburbs. There are some rough spots, and some expensive spots, but if you keep your eyes peeled there are some really great deals in nice buildings.

110 Degrees in Phoenix today. Unseasonably cool. Usually it is closer to 120.

I haven't heard anything . . . sent an email today trying to figure out when they will begin making decisions. Did you commit to Emory?

Kathy emailed back this morning and said "no decisions have been made from the waitlist yet" and that they "anticipate" looking to the waitlist later this week.

Kathy had told me something similar last week when I had emailed her....so, at least the message is consistent.

Maybe we should do a pot. Guess when ASU will go to their waitlist. Did Kathy say if they were going to go to the waitlist? if that decision had already been made?
According to lawschoolnumbers they went to their waitlist in May of last year but didn't finish up until late July.
How long are people willing to wait it out?
I noticed that the T-14's are moving through waitlists pretty fast, I have this feeling that ASU is going to be left holding withdrawals if they don't hurry and move through their waitlist.
Is ASU the only law school in the country that hasn't moved through its waitlist?

Honestly, this is what I am hoping for! The more withdrawls they have, the better of a chance I will secure a seat
I really do not want to retake . . . . so come on ASU!

Why do I feel like all of these other schools are briskly moving through their wait list process and ASU has yet to touch their's?

I have this theory that ASU can't move the waitlist yet because they are trying to reconfigure their algorithm.
I suspect that all these rules to validate LSAT scores and GPAs and jobs are changing the entire admit process for ASU.
ASU doesn't like transparency and these rules are put in place to encourage and require it.
I suspect that they are meeting regularly to try and figure out how to interpret the rules and guidelines to get the highest LSAT and GPA medians they can.
I suspect that unless ASU can come up with a new algorithm for keeping their admit numbers the same they are going to drop in the rankings.

Interesting points. At this point, even if they do call, I think it might be too late...
