When should we start getting worried that we didn't receive a KB1 email? By end of November?

I've been worried since Thursday. About to lose hope. Esp. since I was UR 10/13...Hawkeye Pierce wrote:When should we start getting worried that we didn't receive a KB1 email?

Y'all shouldn't worry at all; your time will come. Remember, there will be between 1000 and 1200 of these things. It just takes a long time to get through so many.

Re: Harvard 2012 applicants (class of 2015)
The UR dates don't seem to indicate anything. It really seems like they are just trudging through a lot of applications and if there is any pattern, it seems to be more that these are all early appliers, but that they may been grouped by some sort of schedule. I just find it weird how many on Friday with 173s got invites and then today its like 5 (174s) and then a 175....but again, its really a black box and totally inconsequential. I know that doesn't help with the hope issue, though I believe its way way way too early to lose hope of getting a KB1. You are like 100 yards into a 5k right now.
For HP, I don't think you lose any hope if you don't get a pre-Thanksgiving interview. I know lots of people at HLS, and most got in post- Thanksgiving and plenty applied early. I think if your numbers put you in the consider range, you don't get worried until you get notice that you should be.

Same here, with a 174/Above Average and pretty average softs, thought I'd at least get a KB1 even if I'm not really an auto-admit.Curious1 wrote:I've been worried since Thursday. About to lose hope. I sure hope so. Submitted 9/15 and went UR 10/13. Hard not to lose a little bit of hope after each passing day.

I know of a 178 who got an invite today--so apparently not by GPA order either.MumofCad wrote:The UR dates don't seem to indicate anything. No, I'm thinking more like they have piles - LSAT 25-50th/above 75th GPA, above LSAT 50th-75th/above 75th GPAm etc. People who are above both 75ths or what not, might get fast-tracked or it might be piles with app dates too. But its just all speculation. It might not have anything to do with anything. We can't know and that's why we can't worry until much much later.Curious1 wrote:I know of a 178 who got an invite today--so apparently not by GPA order either.MumofCad wrote:The UR dates don't seem to indicate anything. Another interesting question: are any of the people who already for KB1's applying straight from undergrad? It seems that most of you have some WE and some of you are "non-traditional" applicants. Perhaps this pile is looked at first?

I'm one year out of undergrad, and a non-URM Hispanic if that helps!

From "Received" to "Application Under Review" this afternoon - getting excited! Though I know the wait could be long, knowing that I'm under review makes me feel like this could be real (with a bit of luck).

Maybe just reply to the email and specify which number you'd like to be reached at.yoiav wrote:i put my cell as a daytime phone and landline as my night phone number. any ideas on which one they call? email just says "number you listed with your present mailing address on your application". interview is 4:30-5:30. is that day or evening??

Re: Harvard 2012 applicants (class of 2015)
I've also wondered if it's something as simple as, like, alphabetical order. I received my KB1 on the first day, and my last name places me very near the beginning of the alphabet. This guess'll probably get shot down as soon as someone from the first batch with the last name Xyz reads this. Still, it would be strange if there were literally no logic to their organization, and I wouldn't be surprised if it were simpler than we're imagining.

maybe hls is not as organized as we thing? just put all the kb1s in a pile in random order and say, we'll call 10today, 10 tmr, etc...plausible i thinkignatiusr wrote:I've also wondered if it's something as simple as, like, alphabetical order. My bet is that, on a certain date, they printed all complete applications that met a minimum standard - above both medians, for example - and then just started working through them in the order they printed (alphabetical, LSAC account number, completely random).

Went UR today, submitted 10/30. Anyone have thoughts on how long until late October submissions will start hearing about KB1's? My guess would be 2-3 weeks?

I'm wondering this too. I applied on 10/28 and went UR 11/2, but I am definitely not getting my hopes up. It seems like the people on TLS who have gotten KB1 invites are above both medians, are above the 75th GPA/25th-median LSAT (4.0/172-3, say), or are above the 75th LSAT/ 25th-median GPA (177+, 3.8X). In other words, they're taking the people they want the most and interviewing/admitting them before Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, I think everyone else might be in for a long wait. Here's hoping I'm wrong, though...AntipodeanPhil wrote: Went UR today, submitted 10/30. Anyone have thoughts on how long until late October submissions will start hearing about KB1's? I'm at/below both medians... It's eithr random or they're picking early applicants with overall profiles they just like for some reason or another... I'm still scratching my head as to how I got one alongside all these other amazing and strong applicants

same here. probably at this point application-season fatigue hasn't set in yet and they're responding more generously to personal statements/interesting softs they like?instantwonton wrote:amc987 wrote:I'm wondering this too.
