THIS I find surprising. Other than one blunt girl in the FA office, who it seems many of us has dealt with, Collins and Carin have gone above and beyond answering questions for me (besides scholarship questions of course). I even understand the girl in the FA office being short with everyone, the school is slow w/ scholarships and she pays the price: answering the same phonecall 100+ times a day.

She has been rude to me more than once. Most of my questions have been about financial aid, so perhaps I'm judging everyone based on her. Still, though, she represents the school and when she is rude it makes me think less of attending there.

I'll ask you what I asked someone previously. Did they tell you fo certain that you would not be receiving a scholarship or just that you hadn't received one as of yet?

Is it acceptable to submit 2 LOCI's? I submitted my first one at the end of December.

No. Especially since the admissions deadline is today. They won't even get everyone processed until close to April.

I'll ask you what I asked someone previously. Did they tell you fo certain that you would not be receiving a scholarship or just that you hadn't received one as of yet?
Just got the same call. Iowa rep said no scholarship, and they'll be offering a loan package. I'm rather surprised as I was accepted very quickly and am well above 75% LSAT, OOS.

What does it mean when your status date updates? is that a ding or a waitlist?

It means that the committee is meeting to review applicants.

Most school's admissions committees meet every week or every other week (more likely every week this time of the year usually on Thursday or Friday for schools). Normally they blanket candidate's status checkers on a day they are reviewing files, hence everyone should have a 3/4 In Review from Iowa today if they haven't heard back.

Four Things happen during these review sessions:
1. They admit you and push your application onto the communications person and the scholarship committee pile if your #'s are high enough or are a URM.

2. They hold your application until another review session because there isn't a unanimous vote to admit you or they want to wait until they see what other applicants the cycle will bring (unlikely this time of the year since all apps had to be in on the 1st but may occur if they want to admit you but have over admitted people so they will wait until people withdraw).

3. They wait list you. They do this to yield protect because they think you won't attend if admitted ( % of people who matriculate from the number they admit factors into their rankings), or they think they can snag a better person from their pool to attend.

4. They deny you, you strictly weren't an attractive candidate to them.

FWIW, at one point I was told I would only be receiving a loan package and there would be no scholarship for me. About 5 weeks or so later I was awarded a full tuition scholarship.
