snapdragon wrote:Realistically speaking does anyone think there's a shot for those of us that submitted late Oct/Nov and still haven't heard? I've sort of already sorted W&M into the waitlist category in my mind, which makes me a bit bummed out because I'd love to have them as option. Do they tend to do all their admits in the first few waves, or are there admits in with the mass of WL/rejects at the end of March? I'm fine with waiting, just wondering if should wait with hope or for doom.
Well people were accepted throughout the cycle last year. Including a final acceptance (with $$$!) on March 26, 2010. However, every single waitlist and rejection came out in that March batch. On LSN there were 175 decisions reach after March 1st, 5 were acceptances (all got $$$).

So the conclusion is: Hope is never dead until it is, but measure your hope with the passing of time.

I'm trying to schedule a meeting with a dean next Tuesday, I'll try to ask when we can expect more decisions, but I have a feeling they'll still stick to their "NOT rolling admissions" line.

I would be incredibly thankful if you are able to get an answer out of them, the wait is unbearable.

Does W&M give everyone money? It certainly seems that way.

I hope this movement is a move towards acceptance...I was almost not even going to look at my W&M status checker. I could definitely use some good news though.

I imagine it is. I feel like a completely pompous ass for saying this, but I doubt I'm going to be rejected or WL at W&M. I'm in-state, sent a Why W&M?, and have the stats.

That said, it could happen.

Is early January really so late to apply? And I thought their email said they didn't do rolling admissions. Ulp, now I'm nervous.

They do modified rolling admissions. Which we've understood to mean rolling admissions, but no rolling rejections or waitlists.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
