Indeed. I sort of like that they do the first batch of jr2s on the week of Thanksgiving. Adds a festive element to the whole operation.abitaman6363 wrote:For as often as I check this thread (2-3 times daily...sad I know) I realized that I don't post too much. I did, however, want to pop in and wish everyone good luck in the coming days. I had my JR1 a few weeks back and I know having that JR2 before Thursday would make Turkey Day a little more special. Best of luck to everyone!

Re: Harvard 2011 Applicants
It seems like JR makes all the calls himself... And the acceptance call is really quick, like a couple of minutes, so he can definitely do more than 60 if he wanted to (I got mine early in the day, and it seemed as if people got them into the afternoon).tkgrrett wrote:So does JR definitely make all the acceptance calls himself?? Seems like he could make no more than 50-60 calls a day max.
Also, Good Luck to everyone this week! I like how they give the calls when many people are at home with their families.

Re: Harvard 2011 Applicants
As an antidote to my nervous neuroticism (which ended up actually making me feel more anxious), I went through last year's HLS Applicant Forum and wanted to share these nuggets of minutiae that could prove relevant tomorrow:
1. Last year, JR started giving JR2s at 9 a.m. EST and continued until at least 6 p.m. EST. Don't lose hope at 4:30.
2. There was much speculation last year as to whether JR2s were rolling out by time zone. This is half-true. West Coasters will not receive their JR2s until after 9 a.m. PST, but EST, CST, and MST applicants will receive JR2s throughout the day. If you're in the Eastern time zone and you haven't received your JR2 by 11 a.m., don't freak out.
3. If you miss his call, JR almost always leaves voicemails, although there were a few instances of missing a JR2 call and not having a voicemail. If JR can't get ahold of you during the day, he'll send you an email after business hours letting you know that you got in.
4. Last year, the JR2 bonanza lasted only one day - Monday. A couple of JR2s went out on Tuesday, but it was literally like 2 or 3 on TLS, and they were all international students (as far as I can tell).
5. JR is used to hyperventilating and awkward over-use of the word "awesome." So far, there are no documented cases of a bad JR2 resulting in a revocation of admission.
Sorry if this qualifies as TL;DR. Just wanted my obsessive thread-stalking to result in some shared knowledge. If I got anything wrong, feel free to correct me. Good luck, everyone!

Also, just to fan the flames.. LSN shows ~58 people accepted to Harvard on 11/23 last cycle with only one of them being a possibly legit URM. Some of these are obviously fakes and I highly doubt LSN represents 100% of the first wave (although it probably represents a huge portion).

1. Serenity now!
2. Knock is my new favorite poster.
3. I'm lucky I'm incredibly busy tomorrow. I'll probably check in during the morning to see if calls are being made, and then do whatever possible to forget that calls are being made.
Good luck to all.

I think the closest thing to the day before (potential) JR2s is Christmas Eve back when I thought Santa was real, but wasn't sure if he going to drop off presents or not...

So it's like a nerve-wracking potentially sad version of Christmas Eve?The Stig wrote:I think the closest thing to the day before (potential) JR1s is Christmas Eve back when I thought Santa was real, but wasn't sure if he going to drop off presents or not...

It wasn't a real "JR2" since it was during the transfer cycle, but I can still confirm that hyperventilating and awkward blurtations of hyperbole will not get your offer rescinded.mgoblue11 wrote:5. Re: Harvard 2011 Applicants
I have a question - do the international students get their JR2s (if they get their JR2s, of course
) later or earlier than the other applicants?
Is there a verifiable pattern?
If JR starts calling at 9a.m. and continues until 6p.m,
that would mean I would get the call (assuming i get the JR2 sometime this week
) anytime between 11p.m. and 8a.m.
If he calls me while I'm sleeping, I might just blurt out jibberish that would make him believe that he called the wrong number lol

No one yet...
So I'm trying to plan my day to where I will always be around my phone. That shower's going to have to wait until after 6 o'clock.
*PS - My phone's alarm clock went off when I was writing this. Thinking it was the call I jumped up and did a marathon leap over the couch to get to the phone. I've gotta join a track team*
