it means your file has been looked at and put on hold. several people have gotten accepted since, and several others are still pending.

Stupid question but what exactly does it mean when you are put on hold? Like can I expect a answer soon and does it look ok or am I screwed?

you will be fine depending on where your index score falls. I have been in this stage over two weeks now and expect to be listed in the next batch (hopefully). There are plenty of ppl at this stage, we're just playing the waiting game now

Neo,
I just looked up your #s. I think you are SO in, FWIW. Just give it some time. :D

Thanks Barbie, I really appreciate that. I REALLY hope you're right. Given all of the time you have spent looking over the previous UF threads/calculating index numbers, I am actually reassured by you saying that ha ha. :D
I have the same index…. I hope she's right too. Still waiting for my first acceptance of the cycle...

I think I decided, unless one of either Illinois, CU, UNC, or UGA bites (which they won't), I'm going to UF. I think... I think.... :D

My dad said that he got a letter in the mail from UF stating that they require more information to establish my Florida residency. Has anyone else gotten this notification??

I have a feeling maybe this is what is holding up my decision. I have called the law school about this and they said I need to talk with the office that handles residency for all the students. I called the phone number the letter had on it and was on hold for 40 minutes. I have left two messages and still nothing. I have an email address someone gave me and I am going to try that next. Does anyone else have experience with this?

Oh, and I did complete the entire online thing when I applied AND my status checker says I am a Florida resident...

Just received 12k/year via snail mail. And Neo- I had to mark myself as out of state due to not having an in-state parent, but was told I could easily appeal for in-state residency due to living here my entire life.

It's pretty standard for them to make you jump through some more hoops on the residency thing. Last year after I was already in and had given them my voter registration, home addy, etc, I had to give them my car registration as well, despite having always been a FL resident and never declaring residency outside FL.

Do you think you got the money so early because you're "out of state?" I'd like to hear back from them so I can start planning on how much I'll have to borrow.

Anxiously awaiting my new batch of grades, should up my GPA from 2.87 to about a 2.95-3.0 and give me a much better shot. I sent my application out a little over a week and a half ago.

I've already been accepted to FSU and will be attending unless UF accepts me, at which point its a road trip to visit both and help me make a decision! I'm a lifelong Canes fan but cannot afford to attend so either way I will be switching my allegiances come August :)

Edit: Just checked and saw that my application is under initial review by the committee, my fingers are crossed as choosing a school is a problem I would like to have.

I'm in-state and got my scholarship offer today too. I was accepted 11/16 if that helps you figure out your timeline any better :)

Yes, you'll get an e-mail that asks you to verify your residency with drivers license info, vehicle registration, etc. You'll pay the application fee through their internal system.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
