Were you notified by email or by letter? If letter, what date was the postmark on the envelope?

And congrats!

How big is the VCE? Does it fit in a standard size mailbox?

Read: If I check my mail on the way into the house and don't see the VCE, can I keep hope for the next ten seconds that it'll be by the door or my roommate found it and took it inside?

What are the items you receive from Columbia after being admitted? VCE, Admitted Student Handbook...? Is there anything else? Someone mentioned a New York guide.

Admitted students binder, a guide to NYC, a giant "brick" of stuff with little brochures about CLS programs, a viewbook, a curriculum guide, and a copy of the CLS magazine, and today I just got a letter from the dean (form letter but still a nice touch).

I am discovering everyone's identities on the CLS facebook page. I feel like I've just been admitted to the Skull and Bones.

We'll see the rest of you there soon!

THE ADMISSIONS LADY SLIPPED UP

well, maybe.

I called and asked if I could get into the ASW without being admitted and she said "Unfortunately, for the events, due to the nature of the admissions process, not all of our admitted students can be invited."

YAY
(or it means nothing I don't know)

Still no decision reached on my file though. Asdfdf

I think she just meant that since they take SO F***ING LONG not everyone, including some admits, get their decision in time. Since they're all fancy and elite they trust that the likelihood of someone choosing a school goes down if they don't attend the ASW doesn't really affect them. I'm glad they're open today though. Clearly they can't handle time off right now!

Don't mean to rain on your parade, but I think this is the standard "Please RSVP for the ASW as space is limited and not all admits can be guaranteed a place"

Hopefully they get a move on with the decisions for us forgotten candidates.

So I just did some more LSN stalking, and there were a handful of people who got late decisions (I'm talking March and April!!! Yuck!!!) Anyway, it was a complete mix. There was someone who got in with a Hamilton in March and a couple other scattered acceptances. But there were waitlists and dings in there too. WTF is CLS's process??? No other school seems to have this much difficulty. I have my first ASW the second week of March. I'm calling that as my withdrawal deadline because I'm really going to be excited about other schools once I start visiting. CLS, you've been warned!!!

Had a rough weekend.. studied 2 days straight for a test on Monday morning that ended up bring hard. Ran to my mailbox afterwards - no VCE, no nothing. :( Really could have used a cheering up and can't think of anything better than a VCE!
