Yes, unless you are ED. I don't think many EDers have heard (according to a couple of my friends who applied ED).somethingclever wrote:So for those of us UR since 10/28 with no updates - does this mean that they are just waiting until the first round of rejections go out to tell us they don't want us? It seems that with all the acceptances going out for other 10/28 people that if they wanted us we would know by now.
Too pessimistic?

It may just mean you don't have auto-admit numbers. If you look on LSN, there's a pretty definite line at 168 right now and only 10 or so admits you could define as true splitters. Sure, it would be nice to get in right now but we're still early in the cycle and I wouldn't assume you're definitely a WL/Reject. They might just want to see how you stack up with the rest of the applicants they're getting this cycle. I wouldn't be overconfident, but I also wouldn't worry.somethingclever wrote:So for those of us UR since 10/28 with no updates - does this mean that they are just waiting until the first round of rejections go out to tell us they don't want us? I wouldn't worry at all. I updated from 10/28 to 11/12 (still under review), but that doesn't necessarily mean I'm getting a decision next week. It also doesn't preclude you from getting one next week. It seems that very few people got an updated status this week (although TLS is a small sample), so I definitely wouldn't worry. In fact, maybe they only updated mine to waitlist mesomethingclever wrote:So for those of us UR since 10/28 with no updates - does this mean that they are just waiting until the first round of rejections go out to tell us they don't want us? Either way, don't stress!

At this point I'm thinking WL or reject but I'm AA male with an LSAT above their 75% (TTT GPA as most of you know) and I applied to FT and PT. I think that'd be good enough for PT.

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
From what I understand URMs often seem to end up under review for longer, (I don't know why) so don't give up hope. I'm mixed race (half AA) with a strong LSAT and weaker GPA... I haven't heard from GULC after being under review for 10 days.hopefulundergrad wrote:At this point I'm thinking WL or reject but I'm AA male with an LSAT above their 75% (TTT GPA as most of you know) and I applied to FT and PT. my friend wanted me to ask this on this thread: any ED update?

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
I applied ED - went complete on 11/2 and Under Review on 11/11... no update yet today. On the ED thread and LSN, no EDers have heard back. But a friend of mine who applied ED for FT got his acceptance letter two weeks ago (his numbers likely made him an auto admit).avacado111 wrote:my friend wanted me to ask this on this thread: any ED update?

Any decisions rendered yet for the group who had their UR status update from 10/28 to 11/12 last week? No word yet for me... Anyone else?

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
I am ED and went to "Under Review" on 10/28 and nothing has changed since then. I definitely don't have auto-admit numbers...a 169/3.23 (with extenuating circumstances and an addendum...my GPA for the last seven semesters has been a 3.78), but I don't know what it means that some ED have had their date change from 10/28 to more recently. And...I'm scared.

Also, does anyone know the deal with interviews for ED candidates? Does that even happen? I called and tried to request one but they said they will request them at their discretion. Could that be a reason why some of our statuses didn't change after 10/28?

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
i think your over reacting. From what my friend is telling me, not that many people know if they got accepted ED or not until December. Those who have been accepted are auto admits anyway. No, I know, but what I meant was that I actually want an interview and I'm trying to figure out the best way to get one.

Because I think I do well in interviews and there are some inconsistencies on my transcript...basically, I don't think my numbers are reflective of my capabilities and I could benefit from a chance to meet with someone in person.thorntll wrote:Why do you want one?jk11287 wrote:No, I know, but what I meant was that I actually want an interview and I'm trying to figure out the best way to get one.

hm, still no changes to my status checker. i think i just need to start ignoring them and only checking once a week, the daily rejection is getting me down.

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
I was asked to interview, and I sort of took it as a bad thing. I guess it's good that they didn't outright reject me, but I still wonder why other people with my numbers got in right away, but they want to interview me further.jk11287 wrote:Because I think I do well in interviews and there are some inconsistencies on my transcript...basically, I don't think my numbers are reflective of my capabilities and I could benefit from a chance to meet with someone in person.thorntll wrote:Why do you want one?jk11287 wrote:No, I know, but what I meant was that I actually want an interview and I'm trying to figure out the best way to get one.

on a side note, i should ban myself from TLS and LSN while at work...the combination of paranoia and addiction do not bode well for my productivity at work

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
sorry if this has been answered elsewhere/already, but i couldn't find it, so:
is the snail-mail acceptance the only mailing we get from georgetown? is there an admit package coming later on or anything of the like, or is it all online/via email from now?
thanks!
