Been complete for ages. Am creeping up on the 8-week deadline they describe in the status checker text.

Just did the calculation and for those complete before December 1, the 8 week "deadline" is Tuesday, January 26, 2010, according to timeanddate.com.Tangerine Gleam wrote:Been complete for ages. Am creeping up on the 8-week deadline they describe in the status checker text.
Hopefully closure will be coming soon.

Anyone think NU's tweet about releasing decisions on a weekly basis might mean we've heard all the news for this week?
I guess next Tuesday (assuming they manage the 8-week turnaround) isn't so far away, but I'd still rather hear sooner.

Maybe not, yesterday they tweeted about Conan early in the day before sending out decisions much later.eas331 wrote:Anyone think NU's tweet about releasing decisions on a weekly basis might mean we've heard all the news for this week?

i'm not hopeful we'll hear anything today. looking forward to next week. if they continue last year's trend, we should be looking at a happy week of acceptances.NancyBotwin wrote:I REALLY hope not.eas331 wrote:Anyone think NU's tweet about releasing decisions on a weekly basis might mean we've heard all the news for this week?

I think he's (she?) referring to the response to mine - when I asked when, and they said they'd be doing them weekly.Beatrice wrote:Maybe not, yesterday they tweeted about Conan early in the day before sending out decisions much later.eas331 wrote:Anyone think NU's tweet about releasing decisions on a weekly basis might mean we've heard all the news for this week?

I'm with you! I was just hoping for some optimistic responses or, better yet, strong reasons to think there might be more decisions (acceptances for everyone, of course) coming out today.NancyBotwin wrote:I REALLY hope not.eas331 wrote:Anyone think NU's tweet about releasing decisions on a weekly basis might mean we've heard all the news for this week?

If this type of pattern holds true, I wouldn't be surprised to see more decisions roll in this afternoon.NancyBotwin wrote: Fri 9-Jan Accept

Well, last year they sent out decisions just about every Thursday and Friday. But this year doesn't seem to resemble last year in the slightest, so that doesn't really help us much.eas331 wrote:I'm with you! Right, but like I said above, this year doesn't seem to resemble last year at all.oneforship wrote:If this type of pattern holds true, I wouldn't be surprised to see more decisions roll in this afternoon.NancyBotwin wrote: Fri 9-Jan Accept

Re: Northwestern 2010
I encountered a similar situation. I had my interview in November, but it still said pending interview, and then in December I got an email asking if I had scheduled my interview yet, which really freaked me out. I called them up though, and it turned out there had been an issue with the scheduling site (where you go in and tell them your interview date) - for some reason, mine didn't save when I entered it. It's possible the same thing happened to you. After that the complete date was listed as the day of the interview, if I remember correctly.def2104 wrote: Also, does anyone else still have the received pending interview, even though you had your interview a while ago. I had my interview a little over a month ago.

They are really excited about Global Village tonight though!! Apparently it's a Dutch event with eating, drinking and various performances from around the world!Beatrice wrote:Maybe not, yesterday they tweeted about Conan early in the day before sending out decisions much later.eas331 wrote:Anyone think NU's tweet about releasing decisions on a weekly basis might mean we've heard all the news for this week?

Re: Northwestern 2010
I just read through last year's thread. It seems that when they did send out decisions, they were mostly around 5:30-6pm Chicago time, which is what it was yesterday. So if we DO hear anything today, it probably won't be until then.
Sigh. Today is dragging.

Yes, the Global Village even sounds awesome, but an even better way to end the week would be by sending out some acceptances...We'll be Tweeting from our Global Village event tonight! 130 dishes from 30 countries, plus performances. A great end to the week!

Well, it doesn't start until 7pm, so they have time before then.Beatrice wrote:Yes, the Global Village even sounds awesome, but an even better way to end the week would be by sending out some acceptances...We'll be Tweeting from our Global Village event tonight! 130 dishes from 30 countries, plus performances.
