Re: In at Miami!
I doubt anyone knows, but for us on hold - will we be notified via the website like most people or just through snail mail? Also, do you think they'll accept everyone at the same time/mail decisions to people off the wait list at the same time or is it rolling as well?

Isn't being on hold the same as waitlisted?Eliza wrote:kellbell wrote:Eliza wrote:Hey Everyone,
For those of you who are in at Miami or on Hold just curious of what your stats are if you are willing to share--just to see where I stand. Thanks! And Any Advice on how to make a "hold" an acceptance would be great too!
It would probably be easier for you to get on LSN & look this up, especially since Miami admits so many people (haha).
Thanks, but I have looked at LSN, but they only show wailtist, rejections and acceptances, and no holds--besides this is just another way to find out info.

Nope, being on hold means they are sitting your file aside. They have dedided to not make a decision until after they see the rest of the applicant pool. It's better than a waitlist.kellbell wrote:Isn't being on hold the same as waitlisted?Eliza wrote:kellbell wrote:Eliza wrote:Hey Everyone,

Re: In at Miami!
hold is definitely better than a WL in my opinion.. awfully tough to get off WL, however I've heard that numerous people are withdrawing from UM due to depleted scholarship funds(no problem with this, the more withdrawls the better for us hold people).. from talking with admissions I expect those on hold to receive mail notification on the final decision

Re: In at Miami!
Wow first 2 weeks of april that is so close! I'm getting anxious! I wonder how many people are on the hold list and what percentage they will accept from hold--does anyone know how many they accept overall?

Re: In at Miami!
Im wondering the same. I wonder how many holds are admits? Would they not just have rejected us outright if we weren't on the bubble? I applied very late, so I cant see why they would put me on hold only to decide a few weeks later, but thats exactly what they did.Eliza wrote:Wow first 2 weeks of april that is so close! Re: In at Miami!
my letter said the same in regards to the April 30th decision.. however someone in admissions that I've met through recruiting and been in contact with through this cycle told me to expect that early to mid April decision ... UM would more than likely be my top choice for law school, I got my fingers crossed for all of us 'hold' applicants

Re: In at Miami!
i withdrew today, so hopefully that opens up a spot for someone here! i was also offered a 30K scholarship, but i'm pretty sure they grossly overextend their scholarships with the understanding that many, many people will not attend. when i visited, an admissions lady told me 'if everyone accepted their scholarships, we would have to sell all the desks and chairs and everything.' which would be, well, bad. for a school.

Re: In at Miami!
I haven't really looked through the whole thread, but have any splitters had luck with Miami? I know spencer pratt was placed on hold, but not sure if I can remember anyone else. I have a 2.3/169, and applied in mid Feb. I know I might sound impatient, but I thought I had a pretty good shot.
Thanks, and good luck to everyone on WL/Hold.

I have faith that you will get accepted. My lsat is only 3 pts higher than yours and we have the same gpa. You also have a good deal of work experience I assume. I think you will get accepted.flhealth wrote:158....3.07....non traditional (37 years old) WL or reject?

SF native here, will be attending ASD as well. Let me know if you have any questions about the surrounding area, nightlife, etc.

In! They are really quick. They are one of the last schools I applied to, but one of the first to hear back form (other earlier ones haven't even gone into review).

That's because they auto-admit pretty much anyone with 3.2+ 155+. I was accepted literally 2 weeks after I sent the app.jackrabbitjones wrote:In! They are really quick. Re: In at Miami!
Yeah, I wouldn't be as excited if I heard from some of the other schools. Miami is actually way down my list, but currently they are the only ones you are giving me the time of day. Though, since I'm sure it was auto admit, I feel kinda used. I'm a person, too, ya' know?swheat wrote:That's because they auto-admit pretty much anyone with 3.2+ 155+.
