They will give you way more than 50k for those stats lol.supersean wrote:Yeah, got 50k which is lower than LSN had me expecting but not horrendous for my stats (168,3.63). Still waiting on USC but really hoping they come through for me.
Just curious, outside of t14s, what other schools have been known to be helpful when negotiating at UCLA?

Thanks, unfortunately nothing though. Here's to the next wave.Rigo wrote:Check your spam/promotions folder.PDX4343 wrote:Anyone know if the email wave is still going tonight? Or when to expect the next wave?
For some reason all my UCLA stuff gets flagged and sent straight there.
Do you think I should wait for info from USC or just go ahead and start my negotiations with UCLA now using my offer from Wash U?Mr_Chukes wrote:They will give you way more than 50k for those stats lol.supersean wrote:Yeah, got 50k which is lower than LSN had me expecting but not horrendous for my stats (168,3.63). USC. UCLA and USC are sister schools. They are in direct competition with each other. They would probably be more receptive to a USC offer. Plus USC is fast with their offers.supersean wrote:Do you think I should wait for info from USC or just go ahead and start my negotiations with UCLA now using my offer from Wash U?Mr_Chukes wrote:They will give you way more than 50k for those stats lol.supersean wrote:Yeah, got 50k which is lower than LSN had me expecting but not horrendous for my stats (168,3.63). how did you find out?TrynaLaw wrote:Got $60K, less than my Michigan offer so hopefully UCLA is willing to come up.
They sent scholarship emails out today. A lot of people got low ball offers.dietcoke1 wrote:how did you find out?TrynaLaw wrote:Got $60K, less than my Michigan offer so hopefully UCLA is willing to come up.
Hi, I am also a splitter with a super low GPA (LSAT 171) and only got half of what you got. Do you mind PM me your stats? I would like to know if my super low GPA is the reason for me not getting much scholarship anywhere....sorence wrote:Thrilled to get money at all (super low GPA), but I definitely need to negotiate. I was really hoping for more seeing as UCLA is my top pick rn :/

I would submit you FAFSA. I actually went to FAFSA today to make sure I submitted mine, Sure enough there it is 1/8/17. No Scholarship information for me yet. Perhaps there will be more information forthcoming.ssolli wrote:*please don't quote.
Do you guys think it's worth reaching out to admissions to inquire about scholarship $$ now, or is there likely to be another wave soon?
Also, is it possible that not submitting FAFSA could have taken me out of the running for a merit scholarship? My numbers are good enough that I'd be surprised to get nothing.
Thanks!

I would negotiate right away, since they already have a certain yield in mind when making initial offers. You don't want them to start bumping up other people's offers and run out of money before you ask!dubliner wrote:low ball offer of $40k. usc is offering $135k. is it worth negotiating now or holding off until they get turned down by some people and have more scholarship money freed up?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
