Should I send another email to ask them about it? I am getting worried...

You already got a response. If you email them again, I'm sure you'll get another automatic response lolololiviaj_j wrote:I sent a LOCI 10-11 days ago, and still have not gotten any reply confirming its receipt other than an automatic one.

Thank you! So the admissions office does not send a confirmation email other than the automated one, is it right?Thomas Hagan, ESQ. wrote:You already got a response. It just says that the email is an automated reply from the office and office will be closed for December 23-January 3 so I thought that was the reason I got worried..
Maybe I should take your advice and calm it down first

I don't blame you for worrying. I emailed them right before they went on their break with a question, they responded almost immediately. Then I had to email them over the break because I forgot to attach a document to my application, and never got a response, even after they returned. Followed up a week or two later just to make sure, was met by a pretty terse reply, haha. I'm sure they're incredibly busy, but I was a bit surprised by the abruptness. But it was worth it for the peace of mind!oliviaj_j wrote:Thank you! Thank you for sharing your experience!!!!
I was worried about the chance that my email might went to the spam folder since I am using a foreign account to send it ! This admission process is really getting to me.
Really appreciate you for restoring a peace of my mind, I will surely take others' advices and relax

So now that matching scholarships are over, what is the process for getting random scholarship offers not through a specific, named program listed in the application? Do such general merit offers not exist anymore?

No idea. I'm hoping they'll just give stronger initial offers like other schools instead of being more reactionary.aaronbursar wrote:So now that matching scholarships are over, what is the process for getting random scholarship offers not through a specific, named program listed in the application? Even if they got rid of the official matching program, I'm sure they'll still play ball. If not, bye bye medians.

Agreed. Berkeley isn't ranked high enough to nix general scholarships and negotiations completely.Rigo wrote:No idea. Yeah 166 is probably the lowest they can reasonably go, even as a black box soft-heavy school.

from the admitted student website, there's a scholarship section. It says that there are 2 rounds of scholarship decisions: Feb 15 and March 20 (approx). It also says that there is a formal procedure for scholarship reconsideration which includes a specific dollar amount request (which is an interesting approach). In scholarship reconsideration you can include other schools offers.

Not that I know of. Someone mentioned earlier that they will most likely stick to their deadline of or around Feb. 3nerdylsat wrote:Any of the people that went under faculty review about a week or so ago heard back?

Those who's applications were moved on to Faculty Review (FR) received an email from the dean of admissions stating that a decision on their application would be made on or around Feb 3rd. Judging from last years posts, it looks like Berkeley was true to their word and sent decisions for FR the day before the date they initial gave.proteinshake wrote:what's Feb 3rd deadline? the next wave is Feb 3rd?Christinabruin wrote:Not that I know of. I don't think that date has relevance to anybody who was not put on FR.

me. same date even. i figured it meant imminent rejection, but now I'm starting to think they might do another FR wave? both possibilities were floated as "things that happened last year"... i guess we just wait and seecrimsonknight wrote:I have been under review since 11/28.
