I went UR1 on 9/19 and UR2 on 12/1. Applied early decision on 9/13. Any ideas on timing after UR2 typically?

So I got my acceptance packet/package from Duke in the mail yesterday (was notified of acceptance a little over a week ago via e-mail), and while this is just a silly little thing, the binder/folder that had all the materials in it looked like it had been used by 3 students before they sent it to me... -_- It was practically destroyed. And I would blame USPS, but the binder/folder was IN another envelope (which was barely beat up at all)...

Had the same thing happen to me. No joke. I thought it was pretty shitty because it looked like the package had been opened before I had.

You guys too?? Wow lol yeah the blue envelope was beat up and torn at the edges but the outer envelope was fine. Totally weird. I really wonder what that's about. Any theories? I'm thinking they put those 250 campus lemurs to work in the admissions office. (But really why is that relevant to our decision of where to attend law school? "I like Michigan and UVA, but Duke has the most lemurs so...")

Cracked up reading this. Some of my best friends went to Duke for undergrad and they always talk about the lemurs. Duke people love their lemurs.

LOL got my acceptance packet in the mail today and if I hadn't read this thread earlier, I would've been confused too and probably would have assumed my packet got destroyed by USPS since I live in Cali haha. The pages of the notepad that they included were stuck together as if it fell in a lake and dried up. xD

I see that around 13% of grads stay in NC. is it safe to assume that ~all of them got NC biglaw? also, how strong is DC placement (as in how hard is it to get DC biglaw relative to peer schools)?

No. Especially this past year, oci was rough for NC biglaw. Even top 20% kids didn't get a single NC biglaw offer. What matters is ties. As far as DC, we place just as strongly as other peers. My class has a ton going to dc. Probably 30-40%, 40% NYC, and then 20% Cali/NC/Chi. Duke has an old rep that we only service NYC. But that is just untrue. I think we place into DC just as well as UVA, and certainly out place in DC Penn, NYU and Columbia (for probably a bunch of reasons) considering our relative class size compared to those schools.

Mine came out at 9:30AM on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Might not be a good indicator of the norm since they may have been trying to get stuff done early that day, but just an FYI.

My email came at 1 pm PST on Day 11, the Friday right after Thanksgiving. Mine not be a good indicator either since they were probably delayed by Thanksgiving lol

just got in via PT and it's like 6 business days from my application (sunday before thanksgiving). east coast so it's 6:30 here

Okay, just did my research and it looks like on TLS first reports of scholarship application emails were December 18th. I don't know their timelines for other the prior phases of the cycle were similar to ours, but even if we are ahead of them I wouldn't expect to hear about scholarships long before last year. In last year's thread, someone posted the following (meaning the class of 2018/2014-2015 cycle)

"Dunno really. All I know is it's 9 days into December and we have yet to hear something. Last year people were receiving the applications promptly after acceptances. I think they are grouping them all in December this year to make it a more fair/structured cycle for the non-PTers, and the late PTers, so there's no real baseline from last year as for when they will be sent. Looks like a first round of Mordecais were reported on the 18th, though idk how many people are expecting one (I, personally, would kill for one...then would go to jail and be barred from the practice of law for life)."
