I see. Thanks!proteinshake wrote:I guess its just stronger than its peers in what are the two most important categories for most applicants (at least I think) -- fed clerking and much stronger big law placement in DC while also easily placing in NYC. I'm not saying its drastically different, but I definitely think there's a difference.Assasindowntheavenue wrote:proteinshake wrote:I'll just email them letting them know I won't mind. but forreal, 20k/year is $60k, I wouldn't consider that a slap in the face! according to MyLSN someone got $60k total so that gives me hope.poptart123 wrote:At the dinner, the financial aid director verbatim said this. I think UVA realizes it's the best (at least in terms of placement I guess) among its peers and uses that to its advantage? not really sure but its hella weird.guybourdin wrote:Over half the students pay sticker. Damn!
What makes you say UVA is the best among its peers in terms of placement?

Dean Faulk mentioned it to me in passing at the end of the interview, never mentioned it again. A week after I came home from my visit I had a check in my mailbox covering the cost. UVA is awesome

At a cursory glance of UVA's scholarship info page, it seems to imply a Dillard scholarship is $1 mil... surely I'm reading this incorrectly?

I believe the page you're referring to is on their alumni giving site. If I understood it correctly, that page is saying that if you want to endow a batch of Dillard scholarships, you have to donate in increments of $1M.joeytribbiani wrote:At a cursory glance of UVA's scholarship info page, it seems to imply a Dillard scholarship is $1 mil... surely I'm reading this incorrectly?
